The car gets an average 28 MPG combined city/country driving so will go about 200 miles per tank. Plus you get federal tax rebates for about $4000 on this vehicle. And you can ride in the HOV line without any passengers. |

(OP) 12/11/2010 11:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Is this merely a question of dollars or does driving enjoyment factor in? Quoting: tungfumastR 519387It is for rather long commuting and gas mileage considerations. It is not going to be enjoyable sitting in traffic, but I believe the Prius has ample gadgets and seems comfortable enough for me. :savetata: Favorite Quote - "I just fucking love outer space, it has all those planets and stars and shit." - Mister Obvious 2009 |

(OP) 12/11/2010 11:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can't speak for the 3rd generation Prius but I have a 4yr old generation 2 Prius that is great. Not only do I get 50 mpg, it is a really enjoyable car to drive. It shows your current mileage on a screen and it is fun to try to adjust your driving to try to improve your mpg. The best I ever got was 63 mpg driving overnight on a road trip. My only complaint is that I've had to replace both headlights- and one of them twice. I am not sure, I shall look into it also. :savetata: Favorite Quote - "I just fucking love outer space, it has all those planets and stars and shit." - Mister Obvious 2009 |

(OP) 12/11/2010 11:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Another great thing about the Prius is that you don't need a key to drive it. I just keep the key fob thingy in my purse and forget about it. It senses when I am near the car and the door unlocks automatically when I lift the handle. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1055419So you like yours a great deal? I honestly have met no one who owned one and does not. :savetata: Favorite Quote - "I just fucking love outer space, it has all those planets and stars and shit." - Mister Obvious 2009 |

They are relatively clean (due to new filters) and have great mileage. Just like the Volkswagen Golf TDI BlueMotion with 74 miles per Gallon of diesel: [link to www.carmagazine.co.uk] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 812359 Netherlands 12/12/2010 01:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Get a Honda Fit. Not a Hybrid, but not a gas guzzler either. You could even live in it if you needed to. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1142753The Honda Fit is being sold over here as the Honda Jazz. It isn't a hybrid but it too has great mileage. The car has won the award as "most satisfying" car for several years now here in the Netherlands. I went to the Hondaldealer several months ago when looking for a new car, imho the Honda Fit is a great car (though we chose a different car). |
