A couple of years ago,I bought a 2010 Subaru Outback - and then people started kidding me about driving a Lesbian car. My husband and I went to an Indigo Girls (high lesbian following) concert at the Botanical Center this summer and looked at the different cars in the Center's parking garage. While there were no Subarus, it was filled with Prius. So...I'm not sure about gay guys driving them, but there are obviously a lot of gay women driving around in them.

And not very good ones. Since they're driving a fucking Prius.

Yeah and they probably have house cats for pets, too.

Funny you mention the cat thing. He does have cats and my other friends and I all make fun of him for that also. The one got some illness and lost its fur and eventually died. We all laughed and got legitimately angry with us. None of us cared we still laughed harder.

The Toyota Prius, the flagship car for the environmentally conscious, is the source of some of the worst pollution in North America, and takes more combined energy to produce than a Hummer, says the Recorder.

* The nickel contained in the Prius' battery is mined and smelted at a plant in Ontario that has caused so much environmental damage to the surrounding environment that NASA has used the 'dead zone' around the plant to test moon rovers.
* Dubbed the Superstack, the factory has spread sulfur dioxide across northern Ontario, becoming every environmentalist's nightmare.
* Acid rain around the area was so bad it destroyed all the plants and the soil slid down off the hillside, according to Canadian Greenpeace energy-coordinator David Martin.
* After leaving the plant, the nickel travels to Europe, China, Japan and United States, a hardly environmentally sound round the world trip for a single battery.

But that isn't even the worst part, says the Record. According to a study by CNW Marketing, the total combined energy to produce a Prius (consisting of electrical, fuel, transportation, materials and hundreds of other factors over the expected lifetime), is greater than what it takes to produce a Hummer:

* The Prius costs an average of $3.25 per mile driven over a lifetime of 100,000 miles -- the expected lifespan of the Hybrid.
* The Hummer, on the other hand, costs a more fiscal $1.95 per mile to put on the road over an expected lifetime of 300,000 miles.
* That means the Hummer will last three times longer than a Prius and use almost 50 percent less combined energy doing it.

The subaru forester is not a gay car. It is a rally sport car which is top level bad ass. The WRX can smoke a million dollar super car with little difficulty and it's under 24k. When I shopped for my Outback, I was pleasantly surprised with how sound the interior was. I needed a car with good gas mileage because I have almost an hour commute to work each day. But, I also needed a vehicle large enough to cart around my big dog and the Outback has that doggy partition & rubber mat for the back. Anyway, I looked at a couple of other brands and they were so flimsy. I don't know why anyone would make a car choice based on the gay or not gay opinion of others. But then again, I look at cars a purely utilitarian and not status.

So are ugly, small cars for gay people now? I think men that drive big-ass loud cars are overcompensating for their inner pussiness.
