So...the more electricity that is needed for little candy assed people that drive electric cars results in more fuel being used to produce electricity. I had been filling my tank 4-5 times a month in the old car. Now I fill it about 3 times a month and when I just have to make short trips I can run it on the battery alone. But, glad you enjoy your car - it sounds lovely and if I did not have to commute I'd be driving a big ole' SUV for sure. Don't necessarily think every Prius driver is a liberal, by the way...Some of us just want to save money. The Prius is nothing special, you can get similar gas mileage from much cheaper cars. I had a 1.8 liter celica with a 6 speed manual transmission that got INSANE gas mileage. I bought it for $6,000 used with 100k miles, ran great for years and still sold it for $4,500 years later.
