Re: Prophecies Jesus gave in Mathew 24 and Revevelation require internet and smartphone
In Mathew 24 Jesus' disciples ask when will the world end?

Jesus answered and said - When you SEE ALL these things - this is the generation that will see all prophecy fulfilled (Math 24:33).

He literally means seeing, i.e. through webcams, videos, computers etc.

What are ALL the things we shall SEE?

Earthquakes, disease and wars in many places around the world. (Math 24:7)

Only in this generation has this been possible - at these websites:

ds.iris.edu/seismon/;
outbreaks.globalincidentmap.com/

Ancients didn't have the ability to SEE or know of earthquakes and disease on the other side of the world i.e. Alaska etc - nor would they care?

We should care however, because Jesus tells us these things will start out slowly like birth pangs and accelerate to apocalyptic levels. When this happens (and they are accelerating), we'll have a sign the end is near.

Next - When we SEE "the evil one" in the temple from a field or rooftop - this is the start of Great Tribulation.

Why would Jesus use the examples field or rooftop?

How would you SEE "satan's man" standing in the holy place from a field?

Only way I know is with a mobile device i.e. smartphone. Therefore this prophecy couldn't happen until we had mobile devices.

This "evil person" will be so arrogant, he'll have his conquest of Jerusalem streamed live to the internet - for all to see and hear his declaration that he is greater than the God of the universe. (2 Thes 2).

Keep in mind only a priest can enter the "holy place" - so no worshipers will be in there.

Additionally, he gives a dire warning for those in Judeae/Jerusalem flee to mountains. where God has prepared a place of safety for them. (Math 24:15-18, 21) .

Every example he uses is very carefully chosen, and conveys something important, and relevant to the entire world.

He tells us we will NOT be caught unaware - that these things will happen all together; not one here or there - ALL.

Here are some more prophecies that require internet:

The gospel will be preached unto all the nations of the earth and then "the end". (Math 24:14)

All will be required to take a mark of the beast to buy or sell. (Rev 13:16). With so many people in the world today, we need computers to keep track of everyone - and THEY are doing this already.

All will SEE his (antichrist) image move and speak, and be required to worship this image that is alive and can move and speak. (Rev 13:15)

Hmmmm - TV, youtube, computer, mobile device.

All will SEE the antichrist kill 2 witnesses in Jerusalem. After 3 days God will have them rise on their feet, and ascend into heaven in front of the whole world.

Ezekiel 39:21 - ALL will SEE God punish the nations that attack Israel in the gog magog war (coming soon).

All this will be accomplished in one generation.

ALL these things must be happening simultaneously also:

evil abounding - love grows cold: porn number one industry on internet. No shortage examples evilness on internet today.
many offended - political correctness to point can't say something without being killed, fired or going to jail.
christians beheaded - on youtube and other places nonetheless.
Jesus will be hated - we know satan is trying to rid the world of anything having to do with Jesus.
many false prophets - oh yeah
many claim to be christ - yep - but the "real fake" is yet to come.

I'll talk about Israel separately - because it offends many :)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67772525

You missed the hidden context.
The Jewish disciples ask Jesus about His return to Israel, to the chosen people(the Jews) as prophesied by the prophets. So these are the things Jews will See and Hear, not necessarily the entire world.
Verse 2 says "see all these" referring to the temple stones, but does not mean for the world to actually witness the destruction of the temple in 70 AD. Only the Jewish people. So no Internet or technology is required.

The destruction of technology as we know it will occur either before or around this time anyway. If you know Revelations, Ezekiel chapter 39 and Zechariah chapter 14 and also interpret them just as literally, you will see this.
For these armies use no modern technology or weaponry in attacking Israel. Thus logically, none exists.(you don't bring swords, spears and horses to fight machine guns, planes and tanks).
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67861897

Daniel 8

And the Goat comes from the west across the whole earth without touching the ground.

Hmmmmmm

There are many examples in the bible where you can see it is not chariots referred to.

So why did Jesus say - Let the reader understand?

It's not the same old same old taking place here.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67880735

Mark 13:

7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

Don't worry when you only HEAR of these things.

But when you SEE him in the holy place!!

14 But when ye shall SEE the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:

16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67880735

Examples where you know it can't be swords, chariots etc:

In Daniel the fourth beast of the earth is a terrifying one. It devours the entire earth by treading it down with it's feet and breaking it to pieces. Notice the ENTIRE earth

It's not an army going around using their feet stomping on people - but symbolism because who in ancient times would understand modern weaponry?

Same with Daniel 8 - the angel says the vision is for the end of days. It could be drones, missiles, jets - crossing the face of the earth without touching the ground.

In Ezekiel 38 - same thing - comes like a storm, a cloud to cover the land.

In Revelation 12 the woman flies into the wilderness on wings of an eagle.

In Daniel and Jesus' time they didn't even have a match to light a fire - so how are you going to explain tanks, airplanes, jets, drones, nuclear weapons?

When Daniel asked the angel in Dan 12 for a better explanation about end times - the Daniel essentially said - you wouldn't understand (Seal up the words), however, knowledge will increase, many will run to and fro - but go your way Daniel and sleep in the earth until you stand in your lot at the end.
-------------

Daniel 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it.

Daniel 8:5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

Daniel 8:6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.

Daniel 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
-----
Many interpret Daniel 8 to be Alexander great etc.
Sorry - Alexander was not the first king.
The Angel makes it very clear, stating many times - it is for the end of time.

Yet everyone ignores that statement!!

[link to www.bibleprophecy.net]

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

Both these examples explain Daniel 8 somewhat - but not exactly.

I don't think anyone can just yet.

This sentence corrected from above post. " - the Daniel essentially " should read: the angel essentially said - you wouldn't understand.....

Re: Prophecies Jesus gave in Mathew 24 and Revevelation require internet and smartphone
In Mathew 24 one of the first things Jesus tells us is not to let anyone deceive us.

He says this before he gives any end times prophecies.

So what would be the purpose of saying this so early in the discourse?

Mathew 24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 or many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

There have been deceptive people since the beginning of time.

But there will be the biggest deceiver of all - the antichrist, performing miracles and wonders - so awesome he fools even God's people.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67772525

The antichrist is the one who will stand in the "holy place".

An item of controversy is - will the temple be built
that the antichrist defiles?

Many say it doesn't have to be built, others say there will be a physical temple.

I'm leaning towards the temple being built - or the
replica used by temple mount faithful to train priest.

How do we know it will be a temple?

Well - there are several sources supporting this belief.

One is Paul - being an x-pharisee he most certainly should know what a temple is:

2 Thessalonians 2

3 Let no man deceive you..and that man of sin be revealed

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

We Also have daniel in several places telling us he will stop the daily sacrifice and declare he is God in the temple :

Daniel 12

9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

-------------

There has to be a temple/physical structure, or how could the daily sacrifice be done?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67797646

We refer to this person as the antichrist - because John tells us anyone who opposes Jesus and God is an antichrist.

There will be many antichrists - but only ONE who goes into
the temple and declares he is God.

Jesus in Mathew 24 - tells us there will be many false christs,

and cautions us to let no man deceive us.

Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2

3 Let no man deceive you..and that man of sin be revealed
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67843065

Next to Jesus, I think the most prominent character in end times is the antichrist.

The first place I recall reading about the AC is Ezekiel 38 - the gog magog war:

17 Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?

It's because of this passage many think the gog-magog war is the Armagheddon war.

I actually think we have 2 wars going on here and am not alone in this thinking.

One is Ezekiel 38 and the other Ezekiel 39.

I'll go into this later - but want to expound on the antichrist a little.

Moe the so-called prophet may be the antichrist. He is deceiving all the mooslims, they worship him as a god, they are enemies of Christ/Christians, Moe stood in the Holy Place when he conquered Jerusalem, 1/3 of mankind will follow him to hell.... etc, etc. just throwin' this out there. It's a continuous hate/battle against Christ & His followers.

Just to add; Maybe Moe was Satan in the flesh. God will let Satan run amok in the end times. The mooslims are running wild. Mooslims may be the way God punishes the world along with earthquakes, meteors, the sun, etc. He will destroy His enemies (mooslims & non believers) in the end. All I know for sure is Jesus & those loyal to Him win in the end. Praise God!!!!!

I too was an unbeliever at one time - won't go into my story.

But - remember this, God offers you salvation up to your last dying breath, providing you don't take the mark of the beast.

So when it all hits the fan, and it will, Just ask for forgiveness.

Yes, OP...I believe this too.

I think the third temple is not a figure of speech. I think it is real. However, I do wonder if the mosque on the temple mount is an abomination in itself.

My grandfather was an avid Bible scholar and my last conversation with him before he died in the early 90's was about the end times. He believed we could be close but for the life of him, he couldn't figure out how the entire world was going to see the two witnesses lying dead in the streets of Jerusalem for 3 1/2 days.

Revelation 11:9 "And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves."

Now we know!

How about this:

I've been wondering if it is possible after the defeat of islam in the gog magog war - if the structure of the rock of dome could be used for a temple.

It could be cleansed - the dome removed? Place a side structure for "sacrifices/tabernacle" outside the temple portion.

The alter would be used for sacrifices and walla - the antichrist would fume over this and then go in and stop the daily sacrifices.

That is if the antichrist is a muslim as many think he will be.

-----

Joel Rosenberg has this to say about the defeat of islam:

As a result, I believe Ezekiel 38-39 describes the end of Radical Islam

and effectively the end of all of Islam

as we have known it. When the God of Israel destroys the forces of Radical Islam supernaturally while Muslims watch on Al Jazeera, how will they wake up the day after and believe that the Qur’an is true and that Muhammad is a true prophet? The vast majority of Muslims will abandon Islam. Many will turn to faith in Jesus Christ. Not all, of course, but many will because theywill have seen the Word of God come true right in front of them and the Word wasGod and the Word is God and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and Hisname is Jesus the Messiah.

Sorry, forgot verses about the great tribulation:

Mathew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

I think you misunderstand me - I'm not an unbeliever. I'm In Christ - I couldn't live without Him (although I suspect there's really no such thing as "without Him").

The problem I'm addressing in my initial post is the widespread obsession with a The Antichrist and a The Tribulation, etc. Throw in The Rapture for a timely excape, and it can be said that we're completely off course. Your assumption that I'm not a believer simply because I'm not wowed by hyper-sensational End Times™ noise is just another example of how skewed our focus is. We might ought to maybe examine whether we want to be actual followers of Christ Jesus or just Revelations enthusiasts with a token dash of pseudo-gospel sprinkled in for perceived validation.

(Math 24:7)

Only in this generation has this been possible - at these websites:

ds.iris.edu/seismon/;
outbreaks.globalincidentmap.com/

Deny it all you want, the Truth is the truth. It will happen as it has been written.

Eze 39:9 “After all this happens, the people who live in the cities of Israel will be kindling fires for seven years, using small shields, large shields, bows, arrows, clubs, personal weapons, and spears to do so. 10 They won’t need to cut down trees from the fields nor gather firewood from the forests, because they will light fires with the weapons as they plunder the plunderers and loot the looters!” declares the Lord God.

Up until lately it's literal fulfillment was not probable, but a world wide EMP war(WW3), would easily make the world revert to this level of technology.
With the current NATO/Russian warlike stance and threats anything is possible.
An EMP war would be considered survivable, rather than the Mutually Assured Destruction of a traditional nuclear war. So it is much more likely to occur.

The arabs are not anywhere near as advanced as the western world is - excluding isis at this point. For example - in some riots we watch on TV - the rioters are throwing rocks and whatever they can grab at the moment.

They could potentially ride horses to navigate mountain terrain. who knows?

But what I wanted to speculate on here is, and I won't go into it 'til later - that I believe gog magog war is 2 armies.

The antichrist - who probably has the best technology available and the arabs who have come to take a spoil.

You would get the fuel from jets, tanks etc from antichrist, while gog is using rudimentary weapons.

Probably sounds unrealistic at this point.

Hopefully, I get a chance to develop it as I discuss the gog magog war.

I found these in my notes - from an earlier thread I posted that was removed from the database:

Notice the ART thou HE - who has been prophesied would come against his people. This verse is responsible for many people claiming gog is the antichrist. But my question is - why can't there be 2 armies?

Then it says, and at the same time gog will come against the land of Israel. Notice it is in the latter days (end times):

Ezekiel 38:16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

17 Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?

18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.

Daniel 7 we get our first introduction to the antichrist - also known as the beast:

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

We refer to this person as the antichrist - because John tells us anyone who opposes Jesus and God is an antichrist.

There will be many antichrists - but only ONE who goes into
the temple and declares he is God.

Jesus in Mathew 24 - tells us there will be many false christs,

and cautions us to let no man deceive us.

Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2

3 Let no man deceive you..and that man of sin be revealed

The three empires before this "fourth empire" were represented by some of the most ferocious animals of prey; but this “beast” is represented by a frightful monster.

The other 3 beasts were identified as a lion, bear and leopard.

The fourth beast wasn't symbolized as an animal.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67964826

Daniel 7 speaks of 4 kingdoms existing during the last days.

According to Revelation the 4th beast(kingdom) is a composite of the 3 beasts in Daniel 7.

The beast is like a leopard, feet of a bear and mouth of a lion. The mouth was given the ability to speak. (REV. 13)

The beasts of Daniel 7 are a lion with eagles wings - that rose up and stood like a man.

The lion is symbolic of Great Britain and eagle wings that came out of the lion matches the USA.

The bear symbolically matches Russia.

If these are the powers of end time as Revelation seems to intimate, then the leopard is the revived roman empire. Maybe the EU. Whatever it is, the leopard is an end time power and has 4 heads and 4 wings representing kings and 4 of something else.

The 4th kingdom - the most powerful of them all, with 10 horns, will be all of these nations combined and the mouth will be the antichrist per Revelation 13. A little horn will rise up and pull out 3 of the 10 horns by the root.

This little horn is the mouth of Revelation 13 - the antichrist. Since the mouth appears to match Great Britain one could speculate the antichrist is British.

The 4th kingdom will devour the entire earth evolving into the NWO with the antichrist as it's king.

This is an alternative perspective, the traditional can be found by googling Daniel 7 explained.

Here is an excellent commentary on everything I have been considering about chapter 7. I've vacillated between the traditional and alternative perspectives and now am in the alternative camp.

bibleprophecy.net/secret/lgusa-4.htm

excerpt:

In Revelation 13 the lion, leopard and bear are combined in one conglomerate beast whereas in Daniel 7 the three beasts are presented separately. This is one evidence among others to show that these visions are meant to apply now, and not thousands of years ago. Almost all Bible commentaries place the fulfillment of Daniel 7 in the distant past. The lion is Babylon, the bear Medo-Persia, the leopard Greece, the unnamed beast Rome. And these explanations would be fine if there were not reasons from the text of the Bible itself indicating that the visions should apply now.

The first reason comes from a comparison of the visions of Daniel 7 and Revelation 13. Because of the obvious parallel of these visions (see the chart on page 82) it makes sense to interpret them in tandem. In Daniel 7 the animals are presented individually. In such a presentation it is natural to conclude, as commentators always have, that the animals refer to successive empires. Medo-Persia followed Babylon, just as the bear followed the lion. But when we see the lion, bear and leopard rolled into one beast in Revelation 13, the symbolism is telling us that all three of the powers represented here are existing at the same time. The explanation we presented in chapter two takes that into account.

Since we gave evidence in that chapter to interpret the unnamed beast of Revelation 13 as the United States, then if the visions of Daniel 7 and Revelation 13 are parallel, then we would expect that the unnamed beast in Daniel 7 is also the United States. Before pursuing that, let us look at a few more evidences from the text indicating that this prophecy of Daniel 7 should be patient of another interpretation beyond the traditional interpretation which places it in the past.

In verse 17 of Daniel 7 the interpreting angel, probably Gabriel, tells Daniel (and now the rest of us who are also listening) that these four beasts are four kingdoms which "will arise from the earth." We are being told about beasts which arise in the future. But at the very time the angel was telling Daniel these things, Babylon was about to fall. It was not about to "arise" in the future. This is very crucial Biblical evidence begging for an alternative explanation for this chapter than the traditional outlay of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome.

Another textual evidence to look beyond the traditional explanation of this chapter comes from verse 7. We read there:

After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast…and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it… (Dan 7:7)

At face value, the expression "the beasts that were before it" seems to mean the beasts that came before it in time. That is, first the lion came and went, then the bear came and went, then the leopard came and went and now the fourth beast is appearing. But the Hebrew word qodam, translated "before," more perfectly means "in the presence of." Thus, what Daniel is telling us is that all these animals were before him at the same time. Lion, bear, leopard, and fourth beast are all standing together at the same time. Thus, as in Revelation 13, we can conclude that these animals represent nations existing at the same time. The language of the prophecy fits better with a future, simultaneous application of the symbols than the traditional sequential, chronological one.

Another indication that this prophecy refers to the end of time, and not to thousands of years ago, come in verses 21 and 22:.......

The "horn" referred to above comes from the fourth beast, and is seen "making war" with God’s people ("the saints") right until the final judgment at which time "the saints possessed the kingdom," a reference to the Age to Come. But if the fourth beast represents Rome, this prophecy is false, because Rome is not still persecuting Christians.
.... The beast power would be persecuting the people of God until the Lord executes judgment at the end of time, as described in this chapter:

Thrones were set up while I was watching, and the Eternal God took his place. His clothing and his hair were white as snow. His throne was a blazing fire with fiery wheels, and flames were dashing out from all around him. Countless thousands were standing there to serve him. The time of judgment began, and the books were opened. I watched closely to see what would happen to this smaller horn because of the arrogant things it was saying. Then before my very eyes, the fourth beast was killed and its body destroyed by fire. The other three beasts had their authority taken from them…(Dan 7:9-12)

Daniel 8

Once again, I have to admit I was not in the futuristic camp until I watched this person's video.

It gave me a fresh perspective on Daniel 8.

After I re-read Daniel 8 and re-watched the video - it all made sense (not that I agree with everything in the video.

The goat (entity going to war with Iran), came from the west portion of the whole earth never touching the ground.

If you think about it - warfare in biblical times meant riding in a Chariot or on a horse and had to touch the earth.

Now, we have drones, jets, nuclear weapons, missles you name it to fight a battle with.

Also, Gabriel tells us it is not until the appointed time - the end of days, and Iran will become a great nation.

How does Iran achieve the status of greatness? By obtaining nukes.

We know Iran is almost a nuclear nation and most likely will become one.

At that time - the west will go to war with Iran.

Edward Everett also informs us - Alexander was not the first king.

I checked on this - and it is true.

So I have switched for now to chapter 8 being in the future

More like we will all get to know or see the revealing of an unseen evil as just what it is.

A man and a man made evil by men.

If we live another 10,000 years and another such evil way is set upon the world.

It also will be dethroned by the Truth that destroys it Lie, murdering and theft.

This is a living word not an ending one or dead one.
It stands to counter evil forever.

Play it again Sam will be begging for punishment.
Crime just does not pay and profits only loss and death.

Revelationing is revealing a lie with Truth.

Its all about hearing and seeing knowing.
Knowing stops more than wars can ever stop.

Knowing changes more than technology can ever change.

Knowing creates creations and the creators as well.

Without Knowing we stand still fall backwards and end in our way.
We cease to proceed.

We shall proceed.
The most precious things are the simple things in life, always present in the simplest of minds.
