Original Message While the head of SEQ water valiantly defends the Wivenhoe operators manual thousands of homes may have been flooded unnecessarily. Surely in this day and age a computerised dam management system that has real time feeds of rainfall and river levels as well as a direct feed into BOM forecasts could provide real time advice on exactly how much water should be released at any point in time. I really think SEQ Water need to replace their 30 yr old manual with a sophisticated computerised system.

Heres an extract of an engineers unofficial report on the events that led up to the flooding.
