[quote:Gife Awks:MV8xNDY3NDM0XzI0MjAzOTAzX0Y3M0QzRjNB] [quote:Anonymous Coward 936193] [quote:Enchanted Wanderer] And so I say again... better tell all your military personell who are serving overseas to not fall in love with citizens of the country they are serving in because their children will never be allowed to be president.. they must marry another american ... wow.. talk about race selection..
Maybe you don't *get it* but you can choose whoever you want to marry when you are yourself an American be them from ANY country of the mate's choosing... HOWEVER, a conflict of interest arises when a person has ultimately dual citizenship and THIS is the issue. Do you get it now?
This is it in a nutshell. For example, my wife was born, in Atlanta, to an American mother and Japanese father. He later naturalized but it doesn't matter, my wife is in-eligible to be President since both parents were not American citizens. She is eligible to be in congress, senate, governor, etc.. It presents a clear conflict of interest. If she was President and we had to, say, impose economic sanctions on Japan, she would have a conflict since half her family is there. Same thing with Obama, both parents were not American citizens, regardless of where he was born. Question is, does congress, senate, governors have the stones to take up the issue. It would create a constitutional crisis but honestly, so what? It may be just what we need to shake things up and start on a real road to recovery as a nation.
