[quote:Lucidious:MV8yMTYyNjM1XzM2NTU2ODQ0X0IxNjAxNzJD] You know, I've often thought about this.. Many years ago i spent some time drifting and doing some soul searching.. It was such an eye-opening experience from me.. I would go from town to town, city to city, looking for a place to stay.. looking for a bed to sleep,, or a meal to eat. For me it was a choice, an exercise of faith that i knew would be only temporary.. But that didn't take the edge off of the oppression i felt and the long term damage it caused me.. I met many good hearted, kind souls who had fallen through the cracks.. Some of them ran out of the will to live but could not find it in them selves to end it.. so they just exist in a state of limbo.. Some of them,, like your letter, aren't given the chances that most of us have because of mistakes made in the past.. (and you're right, in this generation we don't forget one detail of a persons past.. so easy for anyone to find that info.) Some of them are there because of their own recklessness and just need to learn some hard-knock lessons on the street.. thing is we can't judge because we don't know why a person is suffering like that.. Mercy and grace is what we can pray for those souls and what we can extend,, if only in our hearts.. I know that one day i will make a difference in that capacity.. G-d willing i will help in some way! Thanks for your thread.. it brings up a serious matter of thought for our generation. :hf: [/quote]

In apts/housing for rent, I found this plea :
Soften your hearts, please. God will bless you. (Washington County)
Background checks are mandatory. They are a guidelines we are told. But they do not define the person. They do not tell any of the good contributed the rest of their life. They do not tell of the narcissistic ex. The mistress. The four children who thrived because of your efforts nevertheless. Why are so many forlorn individuals on the the street? Look at those dirty worthless tramps!! Because mistakes are never considered just that...mistakes. There are no second chances. Consider yourself very lucky if you have never had to try to pull yourself up from a tragic point in your life. There are fewer and fewer folks who care. The computer decides now and no one takes the responsibility for the hard hearts. Everyone says..."I don't make the decision...not my fault." How convenient. I want to add...who is shooting in schools and malls and other public places;;;?....not I...not ever...its the guy with the perfect record whom the neighbors always comment how, "i can't believe it he was such a nice guy...I would have never guessed...". So what good is it to put me out on the streets?
