Original Message A mystery surrounding a large boom continues to be a mystery. The boom was heard from Rock Island to Davenport in Mid January. The same sound was heard yesterday. Police and Fire, the airport, even the Rock Island Arsenal has been contacted, but no one knows what's causing the sound.

She said these loud booms were maybe sonic booms as they were loud enough to be heard through out most of two counties ! They seemed to come from the Arsenal located on an Island in the Mississippi ! She also asked if it could have anything to do with the tunnels under the Arsenal ? Both booms accoured at about 6:30 Am on each occurrences ! Any thoughts ?
