It helps to boost collagen.
and using collagen ? Where does the L-Lysine come from ???
reply? :bumps:
Sorry, been busy. Yeah, so a lot of vegan diets are a little deficient in l-lysine at times. https://www.palavanfitness.com/lysine-rich-plant-foods/ I've managed to incorporate a lot more lysine into my diet be eating more beans and using cashew cream in my daily coffee, but I still supplement a tiny bit because I have noticed some tiny collagen loss in my upper cheeks. I'm going to be honest about my appearance now, because I like to make jokes that I'm an old granny. I am...old and a grandmother, but I still get carded for liquor sometimes. I put a recent picture on my husband's FB wall a few days ago, and one of our old friends from Texas thought it was a picture of me from the early 2000's. He actually didn't believe me when I told him it was from just a few days ago. It's funny, because if he had seen a picture of me from three years ago, he would have thought I was aging poorly. I've taken ten years off my face in the last two through dietary changes, lots of exercise, and a plant-based diet. So I can't complain about collagen loss too much. But I am taking proactive steps to keep from getting that, and crepey skin. L-Lysine is necessary for the formation of collagen, along with proline and vitamin C. So, a vegan diet and getting ample amounts of those nutrients plus lots of exercise seems to be doing me a shit tonne of good. I'd show you pics to prove it, but then everyone would know who I was and I wouldn't be able to talk shit with impunity here anymore :D hee hee. (I don't really talk shit. I just like being able to be slightly anonymous to the general public in one small corner of the internet.)
why not take collagen ?
Because I've reduced my appearance of aging by eliminating animal-based food sources. Collagen comes from animals. That would just age me. It's poison and death. So, I just take collagen boosting supplements and weight bearing exercise. I used to think that it was necessary to eat animals, so I did for every meal, and I looked like shit. My hair was thin, I was fat, and my skin was blotchy. Now, better :) I think some people can just handle the poison better than others. My family eats meat. shrugs. each person has to decide. God loves us all anyway!
