With American F16s thundering in night sky of Kurdistan the Kurdish people particularly children associate the American F with fear as we did back in 1979-1980 when the Persian mula used the American F to kill us in Eastern Kurdistan because we wanted democracy and boycotted the referendum on saying yes or no to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Business as usual you betray Kurds, call them terrorist and in accordance with your value(the European and American definition of human rights) the Persian, Turkish, Iraqi and Syrian terrorist states have right to kill, arrest, displace Kurds and press on with nationwide raids against them .

The Kurdish people including the anfal- survival and Kurds in Diaspora are shining a light on the states’ terror in Kurdistan but if the Kurds defend themselves against these atrocities, often committed with West assistance, then they are called terrorist! The Western foreign policies in Mideast have been just focused on their interests and many people believe that lucre is the only motivation for the West interference in the ME conflicts.

In the late 1980s the Ba’ath regime in Iraq launched a genocidal campaign against Kurds, most notoriously gassing of Halabja and the anfal in which more 180 000 Kurds were killed. But President Obama turns a blind eye to that and says “Iraqi regime used chemical weapon in war against Iran” it seems that he feel sorry for the theocratic regime of Iran. When President Bush addressed the mass murder of Kurds by previous Iraqi regime, he said “The regime gassed a village in Kurdistan”! He too turned a blind eye to the genocide of Kurds to please Arab world and Turkey. Turkey and U.S agreement permit anti Islamic State forces to operate from the incirlik bas, the vicinity of the base to the battlefield increases the number of sorties that can be carried out against IS on a given time.

But the fact is that ISIS can’t be defeated just by increasing the number of sorties. Turkish officials told the New York Times that they envision a “safe zone” for displaced Syrians. The zone in reality becomes a war zone against the Kurds. The purpose of this war zone is to disintegrate Northern Kurdistan, Rojava. Who is going to protect this Zone on the ground? Turkish army’s main aim is to destroy Rojava. With its regional allies, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Turkey heartedly support Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Islam movements whose ideology and actions differ not much from ISIS. Turkey a NATO member has long been accused by experts, Kurds and even vice President Joe Biden of enabling ISIS by turning a blind eye to their vast smuggling networks of weapons and fighters across its border.

Turkish war is against the Kurds not against ISIS, the Turkish war against Islamist is just a phony war that merely providing cover for its onslaught against the Kurds. ISIS has seen the Turkish army as its ally in fighting the Kurds. Turkey is not explicitly fighting IS, Turkey and ISIS have strategical and ideological affinity. Turkey has been demanding that the U.S planes based in Incirlik not be used in support of Kurds in Rojava. The result of the agreement thus far has been that Turkey kills us with Western blessing and bombs our land, with U.S bombers, impunity. Probably there are both cynicism and naivety at work regarding Turkish policy change and the nuclear deal with Iran. It sounds that the west main concern is their terrorist citizens who have joined the terrorist militants in the region who may return home and plan terrorist attacks; therefore the west will complicate the ongoing conflict in Syria and Iraq further and thereby prolong it for an undetermined time to consume as many jihadist as possible before they return home, at the same time consuming as much weapons as possible to roll on the wheels of weapon industry.
