Original Message I truly believe we're in the age of Idiocracy.
People going crazy over how funny and entertaining the sign language interpreter was at the governors press conference. I thought I was watching an SNL sketch. Entertainment seems to be most important today. Even to the point of ridiculous comedy. I've seen many people sign at church and even at many performances like Disney world and elsewhere. And they're nothing like this! Are we sure he isn't just hamming it up for the cameras?! Entertaining and funny yes! And maybe also disarming the fear in the situation. But necessary or typical? No. And yes distracting! And possibly not allowing to get all info. I bet most people don't even remember what the goveror said in the conference. But I bet they sure remember how funny the interpreter was. Not a great thing. Some things are more important, than todays priority of being entertained and getting a laugh.
