[quote:Anonymous Coward 59106571:MV8zNjc5MTgxXzY1NzY1MDM1X0Y3MUQ4RUU2] [quote:Anonymous Coward 74898320:MV8zNjc5MTgxXzY1NzY0OTEyX0VDMjIyNTJE] I was a kid of about 8 years old. My family lived in the middle of nowhere on about 150 acres of land. I have about a half mile walk from my back door to the woods behind the house. I built a great treehouse in one of the trees on the edge of the forrest. One afternoon I was sitting in my treehouse thinking about whatever kids think about, and lost track of time - it was getting dark quickly. I wasn't scared because I could easily see my house and my mom had already turned on some lights in the house - I could always follow the lights home in the dark. As I sat there trying to decide if I should head home yet, I saw some lights in the sky. They were at a great distance, but I watched them with interest for quite some time. Then I realized that it was already dark out - I couldn't see anything but stars and the lights from my house in the distance. I slowly climbed down from my tree fort, making sure of every footing and hand hold before I shifted my weight - and made it safely to the ground. I started walking home and was about half way there when it happened... Out of nowhere in the still of the night, I was shocked out of my senses by a roar of noise and bright lights. I noticed movement just overhead and dove into the tall grass in an attempt to hide from the UFO. I pissed my pants. The object overhead proceeded away quickly and I could clearly see the flames coming out of the craft. That's when I realized that a military jet had just flown overhead. It came low and fast and because I was looking down as I was careful not to trip in the dark - I never noticed it approach until it was already on top of me. The sound was immediate and deafening - and both sound and lights happening at once was more than my 8 year old senses could handle. I was instantly scared shitless... I ran home worried about how I was going to explain to my parents that I pissed myself - but I didn't need to say anything. My dad was on the phone with the military base screaming about broken windows in the house - I walked right past my parents and went into my room to change my clothes. The pilot got into some trouble because he buzzed his friends house at 500 feet - they lived right behind our woods. The military bought us some nice new windows - and my parents never knew that their son was a chickenshit that night.
Oh, man, this story ended so differently than how I thought it would. It's actually pretty funny, yet good to know the AF replaced the windows in your home. Imagine the kind of trouble that pilot got into when he returned to the base!
