3 April 2007: Two "flash-bang" grenades - the type that create a bright flash, loud noise and smoke, were found in a waste container by a cleaning crew last Friday morning in a men's rest room at Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC. Officials reported that a cleaning crew was emptying the container in the men's rest room located in the "C" concourse at the north end of the terminal shortly after 10:00 a.m. when they noticed the two grenades, and immediately alerted airport police who then contacted an explosive ordnance disposal unit.
According to inquiries made this morning by the Northeast Intelligence Network, federal officials are continuing their investigation of the incident. The men's room where the flash-bang grenades were found is situated near the ticketing concourse outside of airport security.
