If - context, then you'll find reams of 'Misquotations' Here is another example and I also have several bibles - the words of the Lord's prayer again - 'forgive us our 'trespasses'! 'Trespasses' does not appear in the 'Text' of the Lord's prayer in either Matthew or Luke in ANY bible that I have including RC bibles! [/quote]
Original Message
I always quote the Lord's prayer from the Kings James version when Jesus instructs us how to pray.
But today, I was reading it in context, and noticed that the words had changed.
I remember it as ..."Thy will be done ON earth as it is in heaven."
But today my KJV bible reads:
" Thy will be done IN earth as it is in heaven."
Everyone of my versions of the Bible use the word IN earth instead of ON earth.
How do you remember it?
