Original Message My husband had been having pain in his knee. He has artificial knees, so he thought it was failing....Well, anyway, he started having a pain in his knee, thought it was the implant. But when he finally couldn't stand it anymore, went to Dr. today. Turns out he has this blood infection.

Last time he got this blood infection, he had "symptoms" - a high fever, chills (which is a symptom of sepsis). Apparently, it came very close to being deadly last time. He had to have 10 days of intravenous antibiotics...anyway, he's got it again....

Anybody got any ideas WHY he keeps getting this? This actually may be the third - or fourth time - but first two weren't as bad, and antibiotics took care of it easy. Second time was the intravenous. Now we caught it earlier.

But my thought is, WHY does he keep getting this? Anybody got anything?
