I've been eating a lot of steamed salmon and vegetables lately. The salmon is of course farm raised, and purchased frozen from WalMart. This sucks.
No worries, brother. Just drink more water and 3 times a day with fresh lemon and apple cider vinegar in it, and it should help you with detoxing some crap out. If you can manage on a weekend or day you don't work, wake up but dont' eat a thing and go work out, play basketball or do something that will make you sweat a LOT. The more you do these things the more toxins will be released through sweat & eventually urine as well
I was just mainly enjoying the flavor.... and being steamed, it's the healthiest meal I've *ever* cooked for myself :(
That's awesome man! I wouldn't be too down about it, compared to the quantities of toxins we absorb just being outside & breathing air/drinking tap & bottled water, a couple meals aren't going to detriment you. We live & learn, right? Being down about the past yields no positive results :) But I can see you were super happy about the salmon, as i would be too! There ARE 'wild caught' salmon sellers around!! There is no use feeding fire retardants to fish, or contaminating their water with it. Recent research warns farmed Atlantic salmon may contain PBDEs, toxic flame retardant chemicals that have been restricted or banned in the U.S. and many European countries due to their effects on child development
But for many decades, almost all fire-retardants have been shown to be cancerous or 'probably cancerous,' so why would ANYONE allow it in the food supply?
As a result of how they treat farmed fish, Farmed Salmon has been said by many to be
the most toxic food in the world.
It's interesting how not long ago salmon was being touted as one of the most healthy foods in the world. (by the way it takes 3-17 pounds of farmed fish to produce 2.2 pounds of sellable fish. If they used sustainable farming methods, the efficiency would grow 5 fold)
