Boy that girl can swing.
Hang On, Sloopy became Seattle's theme song. :)
Original Video, Hang On Sloopy, with extremely sexy girl dancing. Probably the first video of it's kind, as you'll see, if you watch it:
Thank you so much for that! I'd never seen it before, despite being born in Seattle, and should have somehow seen it somewhere along the line - loved it - thank you for the gift tonight! Sweet!
You're welcome. I love that song from my childhood, too! And, as I recall, it never lost it's popularity. It isn't uncommon, but very few songs have as much popularity after a certain number of years go by, especially 54 years, to be exact. I believe the music video may have been made around '69 or '70. When looking up the year of the song, I saw that a Brazilian duo recorded it in 1966, a year later, in Portuguese and had a hit song with it there as well. Was curious, so here it is: The words in Portuguese mean "Poor girl, doesn't have anyone" - as in poverty poor.
When a song IMPRINTS positive feelings and energies on your psyche, as a child, you carry that energy forward whenever you hear said song.
For me, THIS is that song.
I always feel better after hearing it.
Anyone remember it?
