I had one in the crockpot cooking for 3 days. Too tough to eat. If I have to cull, I just bury them in the garden. We gave up on trying to eat them. I have silkies so they are still laying daily at almost 10 yrs. my other hens stopped long ago, they were close to 8 yrs when they passed. But I didn’t do anything when they stopped laying. They gave me eggs for years, they earned their retirement imo. But everyone’s circumstances are different. [/quote]
