[quote:Pooka:MV8zOTYyNTk1XzgwODU0OTkxX0E5OUJEMjgy] [quote:Mental Case:MV8zOTYyNTk1XzgwODI4OTMzXzQ1OEMzODhD] Growing garlic is easy...but getting the bulb to form under ground is the hard part. I can't tell you how many garlic plants I've harvested with no bulb of garlic at the bottom. Welp, today I tried something new...each plant is growing a seed head on top...I cut the seed head off 12 plants...then I have another 30 or so that I left the seed head grow. I'll be able to directly compare the ones I cut & the ones I didn't when I harvest them (probably in about 2 weeks). I'll letchya know. [/quote] Very interesting! I have grown garlic, with bulbs, and I have grown garlic, that was only the greens. However, I cannot account for either situation, because I was growing garlic with rosebushes - supposed to keep various problems away from roses. I remember some years having bulbs, and other times just greens, but don't recall when or way and I know I had no idea at the time - just looked at them, said "Hmm" and kept on going to the next task. Do explain to us what you learn. Our resident master gardener, and I do not mean one limited to only what a normal master gardener knows, may be able to educate us. Lance, are you present today? Continuation of another thread of wonderful people with the best ever ideas for practical prepping even for those with little money.
We discuss power outages including CME and EMP, heating and cooking methods, first aid, foods; we run disaster scenarios to see if we know what to do.
This is probably the only prepping thread a person would need, whether long-time prepper here to share, or newbie prepper here to learn and everyone in between.
