[quote:Pooka:MV8zOTYyNTk1Xzg1ODg0NDM5X0ZGREZDQTdG] Thanks, guys, for the Texas posts. When they get a little under control down there, it will be a good time to pin this thread on the front page again, to help them with their hindsight. They may never experience such a horror again, we hope, but they will feel far better being prepared just in case. For the rest of us in better weather, let's remember this could happen to us, as well, considering weather manipulation is very much a thing now, and because we have entered the new ice age [read The Ice Age Farmer] and solar minimum. We may have to get through the same sort of thing at any time. MC has great ideas - check out his posts. The warmth in the vehicle parked in the sun is a great one - think about where you are parked and how you could adjust that space so that the sun is on your vehicle. Even warming for a little while would make life easier as you combat the situation inside your cold home. So many are blaming the victims in the Texan situation - what a beastly shame. They may regret that before long. Let's lift them up in prayer - the suffering Texans, I mean, and the grinches as well, since they obviously need a heart change. Everybody stay well and warm and don't stop being ready for whatever might come, as we don't know from day to day what that might be. God bless you all. [/quote]

Continuation of another thread of wonderful people with the best ever ideas for practical prepping even for those with little money.
We discuss power outages including CME and EMP, heating and cooking methods, first aid, foods; we run disaster scenarios to see if we know what to do.
This is probably the only prepping thread a person would need, whether long-time prepper here to share, or newbie prepper here to learn and everyone in between.
