I have always thought 'common sense' to be a very valuable tool of life. However, nowhere in God's holy word does He say to use common sense. In fact, God's word is filled with 'uncommon sense', but we are to trust in the supernatural power of God.
It was that supernatural power that brought all the plagues upon Egypt, that persuaded Pharaoh to let the children of Israel go; that rolled back the waters of the Red Sea, causing them to stand in a wall and heap on either side; dried the bed of the sea; was a cloud of fire by night while being a cloud of darkness to their enemies, and was a cloud of smoke by day to show the way; brought forth waters out of the flinty rock; kept their shoes and clothes from wearing out during 40 years of walking; gave them food from heaven; kept them well and healthy; destroyed the disobedient; and enabled a single man of eighty years plus to lead a great multitude of more than a million people.
That supernatural power delivered the three Hebrew children from the fiery furnace without so much as the smell of smoke being on them and no singed hair. It delivered Daniel from the lion's den. It has revealed the secrets of the heart of man throughout all ages. It has caused the sun to stand still and even go backward. It won battles in the physical realm for the godly in the Old Testament, and wins battles for us today in the Spiritual realm. It brought the Only Begotten Son of God down to earth to be born of a virgin, and through that Son showed us how to obtain that power and righteousness; let Him die on the cross so that we might have inheritance in eternal life, raised Jesus Christ up from the dead the third day, and now He is ascended into heaven and is sitting at the right hand of the Father, where He is the author of eternal salvation. That same supernatural power worked through the Apostles giving them power to heal the sick, cast out devils, and raise the dead and is extended to all the saints of all generations of all languages and tribes. All glory and honor be unto God the Father and to the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ our Lord!
