The truth is that we have never existed in a Patriarchy, but we exist within a Matriarchy.

If we have a population of 1000 people; 500 are male and 500 are female, that population could sustain a 90% reduction of males, and still remain viable.

If that same population lost 90% of females, that population would collapse.
