Nobody evacuated. Wasn't that big of a deal. You have to put ice in the fridge but that's mostly it. Of course, the rest of the house ran gas utilities. The second time was an all electric house so I cooked outside on a charcoal grill. Society pretty much kept on running as well as could be expected. Even grocery stores still had food but the fridges were covered in thick plastic with dry ice underneath. They were able to run registers and emergency lighting from batteries.
But this is California. The people need to have theeapy over the trauma of having power cut off. Think I'm kidding. Our electricity went off around midnight Wednesday, so its been off for 36 hours or so. Our neighbor went to go stay with a friend who has power. She can't handle it. No, I am not kidding. We had a couple of gusts of wind yesterday but absolutely nothing today. We live in Santa Rosa.
Are you telling us power went out at 1AM Tuesday? That's 36 hours. All day yesterday and today. We have a Honda generator we purchased several years ago. Works great. Our house survived the Tubbs fire. Most trees and everything outside did not. Today the weather is calm, no wind and no electricity. We were prepared for this type of event because our electricity often goes out from people crashing into power poles.
