How much of that goes on? :wtflol:
It has happened. Not with me. But noone is doing anything now lol..I'm the youngest guy here and that is 40!!!!.. 2 girls in their 20s. What I learned about homeless shelter over the last 5 years in my travels, people come off drugs and forgot who they are. So the only thing that comforts them is finding a relationship IN here!! I tell people that are new to this, DO NOT THINK ABOUT YOUR LONELY HEART!!.. IF you are in the shelter, and they are in the shelter, YOU BOTH FUCKED UP SOMEWHERE IN LIFE. And if you leave with another homeless person, you'll be right back in here
I agree that a shelter is not the place for building long-term romantic relationships, but it is extremely biased to suggest that EVERY person in a shelter has somehow f*cked up somewhere in their life. I ended up in one for a short period due to a very, very dirty divorce lawyer. I was able to get on my feet relatively quickly but I met many, many people who were also not addicts, criminals or shelter hoppers. From what I can tell, all it takes is to have a very toxic family of origin. Most people can rely on family in a time of dire need. Some of us can't. For myself, it was hard moving from helping to develop community outreach programs to actually being in need. I'm strong. I survived. Yet, I don't think stumbling blocks serve any function unless we somehow learn and grow from them. I wish you well and hope you are able to keep up the outside work while it's still allowed.
......noone is getting sick. Sickly and older people here,so far so good. I'll give updates on how there can be this many people living together and nothing is happening, except our rights are being taken away.. here is my original post about the process we are going through here..
