So far, this looks like we’re staying, but I’m gonna talk with the wife when she gets up. I’ve seen a lot worse than this ten times a year in Birmingham with the spring storms, but they say it’s gonna get worse. Nobody in my condo complex a couple miles north of the beach is leaving.
I don't like the slow movement. Could amplify effects. I take it you're off the ground? Is your car ground level? That one could get tricky unless you have a multi level garage? Those can be good places if things get bad. Good luck.
We’re at 29 feet elevation and in a third floor condo that, I’m told, made it through Ivan with just a few shingles blown off. We evacuated one car to Foley, which is about 79 feet elevation, yesterday, and my car is at ground level. We’re surrounded by deep drainage ditches so I’m keeping a a close eye on those. If they start to fill up, we’re going to get off the island.
Sally is forecast to slow down significantly as it approaches the coast, and this could lead to a prolonged period of rough weather for Alabama.
Look how it just sits on the gulf coast.
