The Clinton's poodle? Yeah, right... that's turned out so well for both the U.S. and the U.K. hasn't it? I wonder what the world would've looked like right now if U.K. had had an actual PM of Winston Churchill's caliber back in 1999. Very, very differently, no doubt about it. ... Hey, I've got an idea! Why don't they put Jamie Shea as U.K.'s Minister of Information? That lying sack of bull's excrement would solve this crisis in a snap. Combined, those two sacks could accomplish anything! [/quote]

Unless we can locate the virus and isolate its carriers, the disease will spread. And unless we can test enough people and trace their contacts, we cannot stop transmission. The predicament facing the Government is not fundamentally one of policy; it is one of logistics and implementation...
The Prime Minister must now take back control of his Government from publicity-obsessed and unaccountable advisers, In this regard, he should learn from Tony Blair and his handling of the foot-and-mouth crisis in 2001.
If the Government is to break the back of this crisis, then the Prime Minister must seize the reins of the state – take back control – and use the fresh capability available to him from the Armed Forces.

It was never really about a virus was it? Bringing in the Army is just the next step.
