Just gave away the liver from the beef that we butchered to a friend. I have never tried cod liver, so no comment on that one.
Liverwurst is like a pate? It is so delicious, this is like a delicacy. It's not bad or rancid tasting like how everyone says cod liver oil is. It releases a lot of it's own oil in the can and that doesn't have any fishy flavor or smell to it. The supplements are so expensive too. I found this batch on amazon, 10 cans for $26, so far the best price and it's so delicious. Mr. Chasity and I have been sharing 1 can a week because it's also high in calories but we aren't eating all the oil, just some of it dipped with bread to get that omega 3. I have 2 calf livers in my freezer I don't plan on cooking. I had no idea this stuff was going to replace it.
Thanks for the green Chasity!!! :hugs: How To Make Liverwurst – Step-By-Step Guide & Recipe In this article you will learn how to make your own liverwurst. You’ll get a complete list of ingredients, materials and a simple recipe that you can copy immediately. Liver sausage is easy and quick to make. Depending on whether you use a casing, a can or a jar, the preparation takes between 2 – 3.5 hours. https://wurstcircle.com/recipes/liverwurst/
I can totally get down with this. That looks delicious! I love pate with pork fatty tissue, that's the best! It does look easy to make so adding the liver makes pate liverwurst. Interesting! I don't if I could ever make it since I don't have a meat grinder. I'm looking for a thing to squeeze potatoes into little slivers for ghochhi. [imgur] https://imgur.com/a/Em3ii9v[/imgur]
