[quote:Louis in Richmond:MV80NjI2MzI5Xzg3NzE5OTQ3XzYwMDlFN0Yz] [quote:drinking buddy:MV80NjI2MzI5Xzg3NzE2OTUxX0M4MTI2M0Qx] oooh, coffee! I made some too. I almost forgot. It's already so darn hot for us. I need to water the garden..and check on my weedlings :dbgrow: Welcome Bastetcat! That is better than our Artemis, who lives up to her name as a hunter and we call her 'Artie McFartie' due to her GI habits. We also have Divacat. She hates everyone equally. [imgur]https://imgur.com/49KeP5w[/imgur] Idk if I will eat today either Louis. How do you Southern people survive these temps? ugh!
We survive them by making definite plans to go outside the evening before. Then letting the kitties out at sunrise, feeling the heat, going back inside and collapsing asleep until afternoon. That was not my normal day for many years, rather I would be the one outside when temps get over 100 or even higher to the 100 teens. I just haven't been out in it for two years so I'm still adjusting to it again. I did just activate the coffee pot, take my insulin, and get my morning prescriptions together which leave me filled with guilt. Every male family member died at age forty, father, uncle, brother. I'm in my sixties. Maybe I too would be dead were it not for two injections I just gave myself and the sixteen pils I will take with my coffee. Six are for pain and inflammation management, one I try to not take as it is damaging to kidneys. Then there's blood pressure, heart rate regulation, three vitamins, an aspirin, and two others to control digestion. And then if I'm going to eat, I need an insulin injection about thirty minutes before and need to take digestive enzyme capsules with every snack or meal. I'm not whining, just painfully aware that I will die if I don't have my job and the healthcare that it provides and left to nature I would have been dead two decades ago. What a way to start every day. Pool has seen some of the pharmacy receipts; in a month I may have some that the medication cost comes to over $20,000 combined and my cost is $0. Without my job I could not afford them and would die within the month. I am beholden to my job and being a hostage to anything goes against my very composition as a person, so a constant state if mental turmoil. I made the War Horse coffee DB sent me, it's pretty good, I need to send her a bag of Death Wish coffee for her to try. Maybe I'll leave the computer work to another day and get that generator running again. I can move it around since I replaced the flat tire on the hand truck. I better have my coffee now and decide what's next! Edit to add after reading Pool's post: Yes shorts, tee shirt, no underwear, linen tablecloths outside, and cloth fabric lawn furniture, not torturous plastic or metal.
