WTF can't I just throw some money at this?
WTF??? I was able to load a cold Bitcoin wallet from a piece of paper, sign up for Coinbase, send the Bitcoin to Coinbase, sell it on the market, move the funds from Coinbase over to the bank, and then move all of that over to a brand new Fidelity account and set market orders for the next day...all in less than an hour.
It's probably because I'm trying to do this after hours. I did get an initial deposit to ameritrade, but then found out that they needed $168 per share instead of $91, so I tried to deposit more, and they paused that. It won't be available till the AM. Coinbase is so easy compared to this.
Wow, they peg it at after hours closing price instead of standard close?
yup. And fidelity just said it's 1-3 business days for deposit. Screw them. Who else? I'm getting sick of going through the signup process and not being able to just buy some damn stock. so frustrating
Wow. I wonder if different banks react differently with Fidelity. Wells Fargo here, nothing special but a checking account. One thing with Fidelity is they only let limit orders be within 50% of last trade price (not including after hours.) So for instance, I wouldn't be able to even buy 1 share @ 168 LIMIT since the close was only ~91 bucks! ...but after hours finished at 168!
I am supposed to be buying limit orders right? or will they not go through in the morning if the price spikes over that?
