This IS a long thread...but I wanted to show some
really good examples of "TATS THAT GO "SOUTH" with
my comments. So, please bookmark it if you don't have
the time. It's on the style of the older "GLP CLASSIC"
threads--some of us aren't tired of reading. Hope you
enjoy it. I MONITOR MY THREADS.
Here's something different. A thread about a new emotional illness
I have coined: "TATTOO REMORSE SYNDROME" (or TRS)
DEFINITION OF T.R.S.:
If you have a personal tattoo either on your own body or a loved one's
--that is DRIVING YOU CRAZY--then you embrace "TAT remorse" up-close and
personal every day!)

I CANCELLED my appointment to get THIS favorite Leonardo Davinci symbol
"The Vitruvian Man" today. I had even "toyed" with the idea of a
portrait of Leonardo Davinci, himself...but even THAT now is "ON HOLD."
(Folks who have followed my Davinci threads and theories will NOT find this surprising!)

NOT since the 1951 book "The Illustrated Man" by Ray Bradbury hit
the American culture of the 60's have personal body TATS been so popular!
From celebrating symbols...to personal relationships (or failed ones)
...to POLITICAL STATEMENTS...to mythological images inspired by
"the GAMMING-industry" have so many people wished to create a STATEMENT
on their bodies as we are seeing today.
And yet, there is an "emotional fall-out, too " A DARK SIDE to the TAT culture
that we may be overlooking. And you'll see what I mean when you go through
this thread! Let's look at this without shame!

I'm coining the term today: "TAT REMORSE SYNDROME-T.R.S." (hey, why not?)
And if we can save just ONE person the headache of dealing with this
increasing problem today--REMORSE finding out the symbol, relationship
political personality or celebrity's INFORMATION HAS CHANGED and throwing
a "cloud" over how your TAT will be seen by others (and yourself)...
then it will be worth the effort!
I think the most common "TAT REMORSE" topic (the ones most often to
be either "blacked out" or "reshaped" would be the LOVE INTEREST
AND LOVE INTEREST GONE BAD Tat Remorse. Here is one I found pretty
funny--we'll look at others below:

I HAVE CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT FOR A "VITRUVIAN MAN" TAT!
Like I reported in my Edits (above)...I have cancelled my long awaited appointment
to get my "Vitruvian Man" tattoo. It's NOT the dough...It's NOT being afraid of
the associated pain involved (I do hear it hurts)...but rather it is because
the favored SYMBOL I've had for so long ENDS UP MEANING SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT
THAN I HAVE THOUGHT FOR DECADES! (Just a clue: Davinci's The Vitruvian Man
does NOT mean the "Golden Ratio" or "The PERFECTION of human beings"...oh no it doesn't.)
I just found out this week!
BIGGEST "AH HA! Experience for me was the "tweek" my brain did
realizing that The Vitruvian Man--one of my most favorite and familiar
symbols I've always attributed to be about "the Golden Ratio" or
"sacred-man humanity"...IS ALSO...SOMETHING ELSE! I very nearly had a
TAT made on my ankle with this iconic image. You will understand WHY I have
changed my mind (actually a different topic than "TAT REGRET")...but if

It made me think of all the folks who have gotten TATS of their own passionately
held symbol...only to find out LATER ON (and regret the TAT) that NEW INFORMATION
shed light on its actual ALTERNATIVE meaning...something they DO NOT WANT on their
own body. This is especially true of "love interests" but it's not the only "TATTOO REMORSE"
a person might encounter. Let's look--It is a matter of "choosing your SYMBOL wisely!"
(OR...as Jordan Maxwell "the Master of Symbolism" says: "DO YOUR HOMEWORK!"
FIRST...ANCIENT SYMBOLS (A FAVORITE TAT CHOICE):
Egyptian symbology is a "big business" for TAT artists. That
is probably because most Western cultures are NOT educated as to
the "latest research" into Egyptology to make their choices
more accurate to what they have "in mind." The Egyptian ANKH is
a perfect example:

Victorian education taught in schools today holds the
Egyptian ANKH "generally" means "life...reincarnation...cycles of Creation."
Unfortunately, with the book by George Michanowski who has done extensive
translations of Sumerian Tablets since the 1970's...the ANKH has a much more
TRAGIC meaning. Michanowski proposes (based on Sumerian Texts) that the
Egyptian Ankh celebrated NOT JUST THE SUN AT SUNSET/SUNRISE...but the fated
Red Giant star "Vela" which would rise and set only a dozen arcs from the sun
as a "companion star" to our own.
Around 9,500 b.c. Vela was a "casualty" of an EXTREME space weather event--
which we find comes around about every 12,000 years. For the 12,000 year cycle

("VELA" is held in the talons of the Beetle Goddess
"Khepra" as she pushed Vela along the horizon at sunset.

The Red Giant star Vela went SUPERNOVA with the trigger from the
Galactic Super Wave (and the "cosmic DUST" which triggers the sun)
which came through and left only a gas-remnant of her former self in the Heavens. The
ANKH itself was VELA...an "orb at the HORIZON which had a field of light across the
Nile River." Of course, after 9,500 b.c. Vela no longer was seen on the
Egyptian Horizon...and the ANKH was thereafter held in the hands of A NEW GODDESS
--the angry "creation destroyer God/Goddess Taweret--who identifies with the core star
of the Milky Way, now...erupting every 12,000 years. You can see 2 ANKHS held in the
hand of Taweret (popularized by the T.V. show "LOST") in this image:
So that's one example where AN ANKH TAT will probably NOT convey the
message you wish to put out there...unless you are into "end times prophesy theory." Good discussion thread for the
