[quote:Anonymous Coward 80447253:MV80ODAzOTgyXzg3NjgxMzU2X0UxMzBERTEw] [quote:Anonymous Coward 80446370:MV80ODAzOTgyXzg3NjgxMDM4XzUyOTRFQUM4] A great thing about the 90s was how accepting of people's unique styles people were. I think that is another thing that was new and different about the 90s. Being yourself was not just acceptable. It was cool. For instance, I don't think this woman was fashionable at all, but everyone just seemed to think being yourself was intrinsically cool. As if being yourself was an important statement in itself. [/quote] Somebody mentioned "lazy bum style" as a derogatory thing concerning the 90s earlier in this thread, and some would say the woman in this music video looks that way. My point of view as someone who grew up in that time is that it wasn't about making being a "lazy bum" stylish. It was about the recognition of any kind of self-expression being stylish. I think that was another new thing in the 90s. In other words, being yourself was inherently stylish. How beautiful. I don't see how anyone could consider that negative? Women like this used to be everywhere in the 90s in America. I took it for granted, and these types are extinct now.
