Does the head somehow vibrate or are you a robot??? Because that, sir, didn’t make sense.
The heads can feedback if you want. I love doin it with the kik too.
Beats the crap out of "England's fastest drummer" in a speed contest with one hand tied behind your back.
Only if it is a “lack of stick control” contest that allows double taps Speed contests focus on single stroke speed Doubles, presses, and buzzes don’t count Might even set you disqualified No gravity pushing either Wrists only Speed contests are absolutely emphasizing stick control And it’s all done on a pad, not a “tuned” head; just hard rubber on wood. Good luck with that...
Who gives a shit about that? It's not music, is it?
“It’s not music” Derrrp
No really. It's like being crowned the world's fastest guitar picker. Who cares?
Well, other guitar players for starters... Kinda like being the fastest runner in the Olympics It may seem like an alien concept to you, but being the best at something is a worthy calling Like graduating at the top of your class But yeah, if you are a low talent shmoo it might be a trigger event Epic Derp
Okay they are the best. No one still cares I promise you. No one is like "Man, Stefan Khacheturian can play the shit out of a drum roll on those practice pads!" There are no guitarists or anyone who can name the World's Fastest Picker off the top of their head.
Ok, seriously. If you are, in fact, recognized as the fastest picker (Roy fuckin Clark) or you win a legit drum contest (Jo Jo Mayer) you can score major endorsements. If you are already a working talent, it brings fame and renown to your already considerable swag. More than one drummer has cut to the front of the line in this way. The era of social media makes it possible to directly monetize this accomplishment, and leverage it into a steady stream of self produced content that can be lucrative to the extreme. The interwebs has changed the meaning and method of what it is to be a professional musician. If you think this is trivial stuff, you are missing the big picture
Been a musician for over 20 years. I’ve played to only serve the music and I have also practiced until my hands hurt on the pad to serve myself and... :hesright:
But you don't expect to be lauded for being a good practicer, do you?
Yes, actually. Just as in every other human pursuit. It is the only road to Carnegie Hall. Doctors practice, lawyers practice- hell, even a dog gets praise for performing a successful trick after much practice. Why you throw so much shade on the pursuit of excellence through personal discipline? If you don’t like good musicians, why are you on this thread?
