I find it odd in my state I didn't even see an uptick of funerals. I never saw any news of our morgue overflowing. Issa lie. [/quote] this just makes it more bizarre. have heard on the ground reports of the worker shortage. i know of noone who died. have seen a cpl localized outbreaks, where 1 person kept the shop open while the others were Q'd. as i said, maybe it is more than 1 factor. we have several listed thru this thread. workers got tired of the isolation rules so quit working to b safer. retired stopped working. kids in college staying closer to campus and not out working part time. mothers staying home more with the kids due to school shutdowns. some foreignors leaving the country. ppl getting out of the workforce cause they were tired of paying $$ to the big govern. does that add up to all that are missing thou or is there something we are missing? How are so many places understaffed when unemployment and eviction moratoriums are gone?
I don’t believe that many people are suddenly hiding now because of CoVid and not working just waiting to get evicted. Even fast food is paying $15 an hour in states where it’s not the mandatory minimum wage - and heroic grocery store workers stayed on the job at the height of the fear pandemic.
Why would all those people not be working now? What are all these mysterious ‘better jobs’ they left for?
Are the supply shortages really because so many people are MIA?
