Indians, for instance, will have spent only US$10,000 on a STEM masters degree. :spam:
Yea but have you ever seen them code? Like shit lol
My wife will agree about them coding like shit. She says they spend months coding something that should take a couple of weeks tops, and then spend a year debugging it and it still never works right. My wife was a senior programmer analyst on mainframe as400 systems. She did financial and logistical programming for a major food conglomerate. They were absorbed by Conagra foods and she was laid off Nov 2019. She wanted to take a month or two off and then looked for jobs. Had 3 lined up to choose from and when Covid got big, the offers were withdrawn and then NOTHING out there. We were lucky, we had enough savings to see us through for several years if needed. She only had a couple of Ass. degrees in IT, so she went back to school to get her bachelors in business. Graduates in December. She has still been looking, had a few nibble interviews over the last year and a half, but nothing serous yet.
It’s because nobody uses as400 anymore! She needs to keep up. They all want SAP experience
She is very fluent in SAP. SAP hosting programming on the iSeries was just one of her duties.
F'ing HR reps I think are fishing or these jobs just plain don't exist. Do you know how many interviews Ive been to where they give a mock scenario on how "would you fix this"? After the first couple I realized they had no intent. Now I flat out tell them they need to pay for my consult time. The looks they give, yea, they know what they are doing.
Really have the feeling its coming down to they post BS openings for legal reasons, yet already know WHO they want....
Or perhaps over qualified and don't want to pay, but let ME make that decision!!!
