Original Message Erdogan’s Failing Health May See Him Shelve 2023 Presidential Bid

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan might be too sick to keep leading Turkey, a report by Foreign Policy ventured over the weekend.

According to the reports “evidence is growing that Turkey’s president is ailing” and he may be too ill to run for reelection in 2023

Erdogan was first elected as president in 2014 and again in 2018. Before being elected president he served as Turkey’s Prime Minister from 2003 to 2014.

The Foreign Policy report noted that according to Article 106 of the Turkish Constitution if Erdogan cannot complete his term in office Vice President Fuat Oktay would assume the responsibilities and powers of the presidency until an election can be held within 45 days and a new president is sworn in.

Recypt Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey, is now visibly and "seriously" ill with alleged right-side heart failure from micro blood clots, nine months after he very publicly took the COVID-19 "jab."

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan received his COVID-19 vaccine in front of TV cameras in January, 2021, a move which a spokesman for his AK Party said aimed to alleviate any public doubts about the effectiveness of the shot.

Turkey began administering the shots developed by China’s Sinovac to health workers in Turkey, rolling out a nationwide vaccination program against a disease that had allegedly killed more than 23,000 people in the country.

Erdogan received his first dose of the vaccine at the Ankara City Hospital. He arrived with Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, who received the first vaccine in the country a day earlier.

Speaking to reporters outside the hospital, Erdogan said he and senior members of the AK Party were all getting inoculated, and urged other politicians to endorse the vaccine.

Videos emerging from inside Turkey now show Erdogan unsteady on his feet, barely able to walk, and needing to hold onto two people in order to go down just a few steps.
