However, OP is spot on concerning the concept of worship, which is completely groveling, lowly slavery, total separation. The sane and intelligent alternative to worship is simply admiration, gratitude, love. Need to rise up as a species and get a grip.
out of curiosity, what would consider to be adequate proof for you?
The incontrovertible kind, the kind that is equally solid as the proof of plant growth through photosynthesis, nothing less. I have personal experiences with unexplained phenomena (plural) and am convinced there's at least one unseen intelligence involved here; I just don't ascribe any religious belief to the paradigm absent any truly objective proof. Is that what you want? to be separate from God .. . For purposes of this thread, assume that God is the Eternal One, the Creator of all... the one Source.
Who wants to be separate from God? When you worship, you are separating yourself from God, by placing "him" in a place higher than yourself. You place a distance between you and "him."
While this applies to any and all religions, I'll focus on the book I am most familiar with.... and in that book, Yahshua says do not look for the Kingdom outside of yourself, for you can find it only within.
And in that book, does Yahshua ever say to worship either the Father or Himself? No.
