There are no posts on GLP about the late Dr. John Sarno and his approach to healing chronic back pain (and other types of pain).
Pain originates in the mind, so the fix lies in talking the mind down off the ledge. That's the basic idea. Becoming aware of this, he said, causes pain to stop.
I really respect John Stoessel, and he swears Sarno cured his back pain of many years just by talking to him. He said in an interview that he's embarassed by the fact that it worked, especially since he's always been so rational and a skeptic of most woo-woo stuff.
Howard Stern and Larry David are two other high profile people who have spoken out about Sarno as if he were a miracle worker.
Have any of you read his books? Any success stories out there to report, or is this all foolishness?
I welcome all feedback and/or related discussions about healing back pain WITHOUT big pharma or surgical interventions.
