Since you said your wife works for a major 'retailer' her company does the same shit. People are sick and tired of shopping at the major retailers and all of her competitors smell blood in the water. I know we do.
What you're describing is day to day commerce.... What I'm talking about is just for theoretical example.. Lowes sends it's employees in mass to clear out their competitors Home Depots shelves so it can be taken back to Lowes and sold to their customers.. As far as I know~? I don't ever remember the entire Woolworths chain or CVS or even Walmart corporation having empty shelves in mass, let alone walking down the street to clear out their compotators shelves.. Near as I can tell the out of inventory thing was last seen in mass during WW2. And yet the products were still being manufactured only sold to the department of defense or whatever it was called back then to support the war effort.. In my humble opinion comparing what's happening in the supply chain logistics and commerce in America today, to selling shit on ebay or Amazon~? Are people being either being intellectually dishonest or in complete denial about the supply chain clusterfu*c that these dumb asses in Washington have unleashed upon the good people of our nation.. :tomato:
FWIW, I worked at a movie theater in the 90s. We had the soda fountains break down on an opening night and went to the local grocery store and pretty much cleared out their Coke products.
No offence.. But exceptions to the rule are not the rule.. People are so egocentric in the 21st century they now appear unable to look at the aggerate of information..(the big picture) If you believe what's happening with Americas supply chain today, and you going to the store to supply a single movie theater with soda in the 1990s have any relation at all~? Do us all a favor~? Head on down and get a vaccine and about 5 booster shots..... :lmao:
My wife is a manager for a large very profitable brick and mortor retailer. They have their own warehouses, distribution and trucking so they have product on hand to sell.. They also order far enough out they've been pretty good at maintaining their inventory..
Yesterday a memo comes out limit supply quantities.. At all locations.. The Problem~? Competitors have taken to buying anything they can get their hands on to take to their stores, add 50%-100% markup and look like they have plenty of inventory.. Leaving my wives loyal customers in the communities they serve with no product at any price..
So now the deal is if your a known customer and have a transaction history that supports their a customer and not a competitor.. The sale of anything in any quantity is no problem.
If a competitor is purchasing or suspected of purchasing their inventory to resale, managers must deny the sale then notify a special team who's tracking the issue at their corporate office..
In my humble opinion~? this situation is just going to deteriorate until companies or anyone for that fact, will be vulnerable to not only roving bands of looters.. But also roving bands of corporations with no product..
I was wondering if anyone else is seeing these kind of problems where they work~?
