These are at the bottom of the barrel. They look like something Rodney Dangerfield's character would have worn in Caddie Shack - only dirty.
Agreed. Its along the same lines as some 'artist' smearing some whaleshit and bat guano on a canvas then signs it and its worth millions (a la Hunter Biden) Same concept for most of the stuff Gucci, Versace, Prada, etc sell. I tease my wife alot for some of the stuff she wants, but shes a good woman and has always loyally had my back right or wrong. She's a rarity these days so if she wants some ugly ass designer shoes or purses and we have it financially, so be it. Here smile makes it worth it.
Good thing all the shit she buys fills her gaping emptiness and might even impress her friends at the same time
We all have our areas where we like to splurge. Do you drive the cheapest car on the market? Live in the cheapest house you could find? I thought not. There will always be a little give and take given your finances and lifestyle. With the Gucci shoes, though, it's expense for ugly and dirty/worn-out looking shoes, and that puts it into the category of, "Why would you do that?" I actually use an MK (Michael Kors) tote/purse. It is a soft plastic with MK all over the front. The first one I got about 15 years ago only because those are my initials and I thought it would be cool carrying around a purse with my initials on it. I think it cost about $200 and I used it daily. You wouldn't believe the work files, lunch, computers that thing carried around for years. I mean, 10 lbs worth of stuff daily! I easily would have gone through 3-4 cheaper purses in that time and actually would have spent much more. Seriously, I had never had a purse so durable. Even though people would give me with nice purses, they would sit in my closet. But alas, the thing finally started to look ratty, so I purhased another just like it. It's actually been the best value per use of any purse I've ever had. So expensive isn't always costly and cheap isn't always the better value.
Original Message
The designer brand is selling $870 men’s and women’s shoes that have been “treated for an all-over distressed effect,” that gives them the look of worn-in sneakers.
