[quote:Anonymous Coward 73249152:MV81MDIwMTYyXzkxOTQ0MzUyXzIzNjAyOEM2] [quote:Anonymous Coward 79336673:MV81MDIwMTYyXzkxOTQ0MTAwX0IzOUQ2OUMx] He didn’t. What Paul did say has been twisted by those who follow the 19th century teachings of John Nelson Darby and the later Cyrus Schofield. There is no secret rapture. It isn’t secret, but like Paul describes in 1 thess 4 - with a shout, with a trumpet call We aren’t then taken to heaven, rather we meet the Lord in the air (the dead in Christ rise first and we return to the Earth with Jesus as his escorts. Jesus also describes this in John 5:28-29 where ‘an hour is coming’ when those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. Not separated by seven years or 3.5 years, or by some undetermined time period, as some pre-tribulation teachers claim. The rapture begins the end of the age, when sudden destruction comes upon the Earth. 2 Peter 3:10 - the heavens disappear, the Earth and everything in it is burned up and, as promised by the Lord, is replaced by a new heavens and new Earth, where righteousness dwells. All the promises in the Old Testament are fulfilled in Jesus Christ and His people, in His Kingdom . ” 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.”
its not invented by Darby, but you have to falsely claim that to make it fit your false replacement theology. Romans 11 debunks you, God has not done away with his people (the j....) The pre-Darby rapture:
Given the gravity of misunderstanding Romans 13, this video is well worth the 7 minutes (or 3.5 minutes on 2X speed) of your time.
For those of you who insist on a synopsis for every video, you will not be disappointed by watching. He'll explain why the powers given to government are not universal, and that they have clear limits as defined in the Scriptures.
It is not always a sin to defy or disobey government. Romans 13 is not the only passage in the Bible -- there are thousands and thousands of other passages one must consider when forming their worldviews.
