I've got over 1 million road miles on everything with wheels, and I'm still here. TPMS is bullshit and cause for no end of hassles with tire shops. Drivers of any rig, including four wheelers are responsible for the consequences of using that rig. Pay attention to your own stuff and everything else that can kill you and just deal with it. We don't need no more stinking regulations! Buttgig is an asshole and we certainly don't want to give that pervert even more power.
The new trucks are shit. An emission failure where a truck is only eliminating 90% of tailpipe emissions instead of 100% will cause de-rate and that truck will stop itself. EBS airbrakes, which is current in use technology, respond to the driver 200ms faster than George Westinghouse's air valves. It's the difference between brakes that operate at the speed of light and brakes that physically can't break the sound barrier. The first 200ms of an emergency stop of an 80,000 pound truck/trailer translates to yards of stopping distance and lives saved. The design intent of ABS systems on trucks today is to save tires and more expensive wheel end repairs. They didn't even want to change or add to the 7 way trailer electrical plug so they use an automotive engineering version of the Ronco Clapper to turn the trailer fault indication on a tractor dash. You have trucks today with 80,000 pounds on 10 wheels instead of 18. Have you ever had a super single fail on a non steer axle? The truck is 5x more likely to suffer loss of directional stability than an old school 18 wheeler losing a non steer tire. New heavy trucks suck in North America and it costs at least 1,000 lives every year.
:FTARH-learnit:
