[quote:Anonymous Coward 79336278:MV81MTY2MDU3Xzk0OTA4OTAwX0I0M0M2NEEy] [quote:Anonymous Coward 74642967:MV81MTY2MDU3Xzk0OTA4NTQ1X0E5MjBBQzRE] Hopefully not anytime soon, I’m 43, own my own business and have hired and fired dozens of folks. In my short years on this earth, I’ve learned the more you pay someone that doesn’t possess many skills, education, talent, the more complacent and lazy they become. You have to reward hard work. I don’t mind paying you $20 an hour, but if you spend 3 hours a day on your phone, calling your boyfriend’s parole officer, or Tik Toking, you’re fired. I don’t like to waste time or money. Good luck to you blue hairs looking to make $20 an hour and sit back and Instagram all day, you won’t last. You’ll quickly be replaced by someone older, willing to work, and someone that needs the job. Good luck with life if you think this world owes you anything. Your hopes of an inheritance from your broke parents (broke because they just paid off your third DWI and baby momma’s second abortion). Just good luck. Oh yeah, and, San Dimas High School Football rules! [/quote] I retired at 38. You're very generous. My gardener does less than 2 hours of work a month for $115/month and I think I'm overpaying. I made $11/hr back in 1992 which I considered a low wage. Minimum wage in 1992 was $5.50. Federally now it’s $7.50/hr. Some states have higher. , Florida being $10/hr and California being$13/hr
Prices of things since 1992 have gone up 300-700% but the Federal minimum wage has only gone up 100%. Gas, for example, has gone up 400%. Toyota pickup roughly up 500%. Rent where I used to live in 1992 has gone up 600%. Food I’m paying probably 300% more
Based on my calculations with cost of living , the min wage should be, at least, $25/hr to be able to pay your bills
