[quote:Hot Dog Harry:MV81MTcyMjQyXzk1MDM4Mzg2X0M4RTNFRjFF] [quote:JustmeTX:MV81MTcyMjQyXzk1MDM4Mzc0X0ExNzU5MkZE] I have had 20:550 vision most of my life. Then I started supplementing with iodine. I was testing the Polarpure water purifier because everyone said the taste would be so bad that this would not be a viable prep for water emergencies. I made a liter of the iodine water with it and drank it down after doing some yard work. It tasted WONDERFUL! So for a few days I kept making a liter of water and drinking it in the middle of the day. I was 52 years old and my vision had also gotten to where I needed trifocals as my eyes had lost the ability to adapt to near and far object focusing. Then I would get a sharp ZING pain in one or the other of my eyes. Had no idea what it was and it was just an instantaneous thing that would immediately subside. LIke someone snapped a rubber band in my eye lense. AFter about 2 months of this, my glasses seemed to if anything be impairing my vision. I stopped wearing them around the house. Then I saw the eye doctor to see if I needed a new prescription. She said, did you have lasik surgery? Your eyes are almost 20:20. still have astigmatism but don't bother with the glasses anymore. I can see up close perfectly, and far away is still a little fuzzy, but not enough to want to wear glasses to fix it. And wearing glasses impairs vision, and were always needing cleaning several times a day to get skin oil off them etc. Have not worn glasses for years now. Oddly enough, that was not the most remarkable effect. The iodine eliminated my brain fog. I was having trouble remembering words immediately. Brain is now fog free and works pretty much at 100% again. (maybe even a bit better).
Thanks for that. I also have been attributing a lot of my problems lately to dehydration. I've been drinking coconut water and trying to stay more hydrated. Alcohol and salty foods are not good for the old eyeballs.
I save certain things... I have my first pay stubs from McDonald's from 1992. Back when they paid a whopping $4.25 an hour and you got an employee meal as a job benefit.
I also saved all my glasses over the years. I'm 47 now and I've been putting off going to the eye doctor to get a new prescription.
I was messing around with all my old glasses yesterday and I found that one of my oldest pairs still works perfectly for me.
They are glass lenses which I prefer over plastic and I can see out of them perfectly. They are over 20 years old.
I wore them all day today with no problems....
It doesn't make any sense to me...
