the last books were based on the TV series.  at least that is what I understood.. books were WRITTEN after the end of the TV series .  Based on the tv series end.. I had a friend who followed that one tightly who had read the books the story was supposedly based on and then watched books after being published to go with the ending.. that was her schooling to me on the topic.

Original Message I’ve always wanted to but finally am! It’s pretty cool, we are binge watching like 2-3 episodes a night and are almost done (season 6). My favourite character is Hodor and he just died in the last episode I watched
