[quote:Anonymous Coward 67904014:MV81MzQzODYxXzk4NjI0MzE1XzEwMERCNjU0] [quote:Anonymous Coward 85039460:MV81MzQzODYxXzk4NjA1NzI2XzY3NUMyOEY0] what is the sporting purpose of an AR15 ?
What does that have to do with anything? But to answer your question, 3 gun competitions. Ar 15s come in many calibers and in about half the states it is legal to hunt with them. But really...who cares what the sporting purpose is? The purpose of citizens having guns is to kill people. Its pretty clear in the constitution. If you read the writings of the founders they mention we should have equal arms to the standing armies of the day. They had cannons on their farms. Gatling Guns. explosives.....etc Biden says what can you do with your ar15s against tanks and F15s.....ask the Afgans and the Russians. Not even mentioning the president of the United states is threatening the people he is supposed to be representing (politicians are not leaders in this country) with tanks and jets.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced legislation Monday to ban “205 military-style assault weapons
by name” and prohibit transfer of “high capacity” magazines.
Feinstein cited the January 21, 2023, Monterey Park shooting as the impetus for the reintroduction of the “assault weapons” ban.
She said, “We were tragically reminded this weekend of the deadly nature of assault weapons when a shooter used one to kill 11 people and injure 9 more at a Lunar New Year celebration in California.”
However, Feinstein’s proposed ban would not have prevented the suspected gunman from possessing the gun used in the attack.
In addition to banning the “sale, manufacture, transfer and importation” of 205 specific firearms, Feinstein’s bill requires “a background check on any future sale, trade or gifting of an assault weapon covered by the bill.” (This would apply to guns grandfathered in, if the bill were to become law.)
