Anonymous Coward User ID: 902967 United Kingdom 03/01/2010 07:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | on saturday an officer knocked on my door and after I didn't answer he slid a summons under my door. Apparently a debt collector for capital one bank wants to sue me for 1,222.00 plus fees. The thing is that - on the summons it is stated to the officer serving it that it can be served no later than 3 days before the return date. The summons was written in september but this is the first I've heard of it. I've received many calls from the collector but no mention of a summons until now. I have work in the morning and now I'm supposed to be in court at 9:30 a.m. What should I do? Quoting: wtf 903911Write, "RETURN TO SENDER" on the front of the envelope and put it back into a post box. Thats what I do with bills and creepy debt collectors. I never heard from them again. It could come back to bite you in the ass and if your worried research the laws regarding it before you do it. There is a loophole in British law somewhere that gives a peacefull non distruptive person the opportunity not to participate with the legal system. The right to remain silent is v important. By talking you are particapting. |
