The Holy Spirit: Witness to The Holy Scriptures; Alive and Dwelling within each Born-Again Christian!
The Holy Spirit: Witness to The Holy Scriptures; Alive and Dwelling within each Born-Again Christian!

I am not a "studied" man. In my nearly 21 years of being Born-Again and having the Holy Spirit Dwell within me; God never directed me to "study" The Holy Scriptures. I have not, in fact, read the entire Bible.

The above statement makes me a heretic in the eyes of many Christians. Yet, for almost 21 years, I have sought HIS Will, not my own; and lived in HIS Accord and Blessing. I have always sought God in prayer; going to HIM Directly, not trying to find my answers in random Bible reading. God always directed me, and when no answer was forthcoming; that was too, an answer and I lived in accord with HIS Will.

Posting my first witness here in GLP Forum last March was a suprise. Coming from a catholic background and never being led to "join" a church; I was not familiar with how most Christians want to "test the spirits" with Scripture. Yet, the Holy Spirit led me and enabled me to give proof to the witness HE led me to post.

The Holy Spirit guides my thinking; enabling my every word, thought, and deed. I have a pretty good memory for Scripture I have heard preached. A searchable Bible is a tremendous Blessing for one who has not done a rote memorization of chapter and verse. By repetition, and revisitation, I have come to Know many that comprise The Witness of Christ Jesus; but I was never led to "study" them, I was led by God to live in accord with HIS Will.

Is there a difference? I think so. It is my discernment and witness that God Calls us To HIM and then gives us Knowledge of HIS Will for us each day, and the ability to carry it out. Not every day is task oriented, often our task is to be willing and seeking HIM.

Yet, The Holy Spirit, who Dwells within those who are Born-Again; does Direct our lives. Perhaps the many ways in which HE Directs us is a good topic for another article. This one needs to get back on track about how HE guides us with HIS Witness when we read the Holy Scriptures.

I previously stated that my articles and posts have been of a witness format; they comprise what I have Known and Seen in my Born-Again experience. The Holy Spirit has guided me to support my witness. This is natural, since God is directing me to give it.

One of the most basic, yet most misrepresented matters in this Laodicean church age, is that of what it means and how we become, Born-Again.

The Gospel of John ch 3, is primarily devoted to Jesusī Direct Witness about how vital it is to become Born-Again.

I have witnessed repeatedly about the 3 times Jesus said we must be Born-Again (vs 3, 5,& 7), and the three conditional words included that Believers "should" become Born-again, (15, 16 & 17). And also how Jesus says plainly "Believers are not condemned" (18). These comprise the fact that we must do MORE than simply Believe in Jesus to be saved.

Verse 14 was revealed to me by The Holy Spirit. Matthew Henry and others do not understand what Jesus Witnessed when HE said, "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up."

Matthew Henry, (I just checked to verify) and even other study guides attribute this "lifting up of the serpent" to the pole in the desert with the brass snake on it that cured the snakebit Hebrews.

The Holy Spirit witnessed to me months ago that the serpent Jesus means is the one Moses had to overcome fear of in Exxodus 4:3-4; the first time God told Moses to cast down his staff/rod and it turned into a snake. I have written of that here on this forum months ago.

I have stated that verse 14 was that we have to "take action" in our lives to Lift Up Jesus; just as Moses had to overcome his fear and pick up the snake by the tail. God tells Moses how to pick up the snake.

I have never had to "prove" this to myself; but tonite I sought to and found the Witness the Holy Spirit had given me and HE confirmed it again for me tonite. My Bible with study notes, and the online Matthew Henry both cite the acccount in Numbers 21:9.

Moses has to Take Action, while the Hebrews just have to "look upon" the brass snake to be cured. Very incongruous to me to think that God would have intended Christ Jesus to be the more perfect form and type of that brass image; especially one of a "serpent".

The Action we have to take is Witnessed more fully by Jesus in John 12:25 "He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." To become Born-Again we have to give up our Self, our Life, To The Father. This is the Leap of Faith that we must conquer our fears and doubts in order to realize that we must Abide IN-HIM or be miserable.

This topic is not so much a discussion of How To Come Unto The Father as it is to give witness of How The Holy Spirit guides our thinking and imparts HIS Knowledge to us through the Scriptures.

Matthew 13:12 is even more concrete as to what is happening in the lives of Born-Again Christians in these Final Moments:
[10] And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
[11] He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
[12] For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
[13] Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

There are many dilligent and earnest Believer=Seekers, striving to KNOW God. Yet, only by the unconditional Surrender inherent to the process of Coming Unto The Father, will they KNOW HIM who they are seeking.

You cannot know HIM, before you KNOW HIM.

The point of writing this is to show that God will guide your life; if you agree to let HIM.

To those who willingly give HIM their lives, HE will give increased Knowledge. Those who arenīt Born-Again will have their knowledge taken away.

Only the "very elect" will not be deceived.
Only because HIS Remnant hear HIS Voice and obey HIM; will they be Delivered from the dragon in the desert.

In-HIM or without.

If you are obedient unto HIM, you can do no wrong! If you come to KNOW HIM; you will LOVE HIM entirely with your whole being. No other will come first. That is why you will never sin again; HE matters Too Much to you! HE can never fail you, you can only fail HIM. If you Love HIM, you will not fail HIM.

I can go on like this, giving witness, for the rest of my life. Yet, the time for witness is about done, over, completed.

Once the whole world Knows HE IS Real; the witnessing mode is finished. Soon, very soon.

Come Quickly Lord Jesus!

Jesus is the Word made flesh, the words He spoke and have been written down are there for the benefit of mankind. Man shall not live on bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
In order to have a healthy balanced spiritual life It is necessary to fellowship with the Lord through the gift of His Holy Spirit and renew our minds by the reading of His words.
The Word of God shall never pass away, through all ages. It is our sword, and Our only offensive weapon against the enemy, it was by the Word of God that Jesus defeated satan when He was being tempted. Without the bible we still have the living Word made flesh, but having the scriptures is to our benefit for growth to maturity.

FoG,

I wonder if you read what I wrote?

What is the point of deluding yourself in study, if you do not Know That if you are Born-Again, you have HIS Inheritance of OverComing not only Death but also Sin in your life. Scripture tells us HE was tempted, but did not sin.

How can you Know the moment, unless you Know HIM?

Do you realize ALL we understand in this world is getting ready to change?

Can you understand that what Matthew Henry and other "studiers" discern; may only be an outer layer of HIS Truth?

Do you have Witness from God that Christ is already embarked back to this world?

A minister on a Christian board was relating that ministers would be the "leaders of The Remnant during the Tribulation". I was led to ask him, "Why would Born-Agains need any "leader" other than Jesus?".

Can you discern the difference between Moses staff that became a serpent and the pole with a brasss snake; in the context of John 3:14?

Tell me about "study" versus being Led by the Holy Spirit in the Scriptures?

I am not trying to criticize or pick a fight. Only you or anyone else here really KNOW whether you have a Relationship with God.

I sent you an email last week about Martyrs and the closing of The Book of Life. No Reply from you on that.

You like to cite issues of "maturity". Where did Jesus ever witness of that?

The most concise witness of the Born-Again exeperience I know of is 1 John. John says when we abide with God HE enables us to know all things. Not literally, just everything we need to Serve HIS Will.

If we KNOW HIM, commit our life daily to HIM; then we are praising HIM and being in conscious Contact with HIM every day! Donīt you experience HIS Guidance and Presence with you constantly?

After 21 years; do I take HIM for granted? Yes and NO!

Yes, because I am Literally HIS. HE loves me about a million times more than I could ever love myself. I can depend on HIM.

NO, because I would die before I would jeopardize (sin) my Relationship with HIM.

I am here witnessing that Born-Again Christians are alive with both the Father and Son. We ARE HIS! HE is guiding our thoughts, words, and deeds.

There is nothing to "study".
We either KNOW HIM, or we do not.

I know you cannot accept the witness that Born-Agains do not sin. Am I wrong?

You are stating that you do not sin? I see. You think that gives you the right to cast the first stone against your fellow Christians no matter that they confess Christ openly?

Ah, Lester, I said it is my belief that you are NOT a Christian, but a born-again Pharisee. How they loved to appear in public as "holier than thou" judges of the Word, while inside they were nothing more than whited sepulchers, full of dead menīs bones.

ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. You are a sinner in the sense that you are NOT PERFECT! You have not lifted up one Christian who professes his/her faith because you are self-serving. Gotcher number!

You are preaching a false Gospel. Even an unbeliever can see that.

Hi Lester,

"In my nearly 21 years of being Born-Again and having the Holy Spirit Dwell within me; "

"After 21 years; do I take HIM for granted? Yes and NO!"

Yet on another thread you posted this;

"I have learned in the 415 days since God Annointed me to witness;"

What happened during the 19 years+ between these two times you have given?

"God never directed me to "study" The Holy Scriptures. I have not, in fact, read the entire Bible."

Maybe you should have, as it sounds like you missed reading these verses;

Mīr:16:20:
And they went forth,
and preached every where,
the Lord working with them,
and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Mīr:16:17:
And these signs shall follow them that believe;
In my name shall they cast out devils;
they shall speak with new tongues;
Mīr:16:18:
They shall take up serpents;
and if they drink any deadly thing,
it shall not hurt them;
they shall lay hands on the sick,
and they shall recover.
Mīr:16:19:
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them,
he was received up into heaven,
and sat on the right hand of God.

The Apostles had been baptised with the Holy Spirit and as such they had these gifts.

I already know you can do none of the above, but for the safety of your own body you should only try the last one.
Pick any hospital close to you and clear it out by healing all those who are there for various ailments.(call the news people first so I can read about it)

Haha! All of the ministers who claim to have a five-fold ministry should be in hospitals restoring everyone in there who wants to be healed. Go into the highways and byways and get people out of their wheelchairs. Restore sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, and speech to the dumb. Cast out evil spirits from the possessed.

They are not doing those things and SO FEW QUESTION that these "learned" ones arenīt doing the jobs that Christ said they would.

My witness is what it is.
Jesus says, "your sins are forgiven you. Go and sin no more!"
John says, "anyone who says he never sinned (before) cannot become Born-Again." that is the gist of 1John 1:10.
John then says 4 more times directly that a Born-Again Christian will not continue to sin.

The very next verse, 1 of ch 2; John says "... IF a man sin, we have an intercessor..."
Not "when a man sins" but "IF". If is not a word that denotes likelihood.

You think God has given you an inheritance to Live Forever; but you cannot abide with HIM and resist sin?

I say you have Esauīed away your inheritance.

"Esau have I hated."

You damn sad "studied" fools. You are Denying HIM but cannot see or know.

Only your Relationship With HIM matters!
IN-HIM, With-HIM and Through-HIM; we live our lives, IF we are Born-Again!!!

God cannot and will not abide with sin or sinners!
This is the entire reason why Jesus had to die; to be our Perfect Redemptive Sacrifice: Because God so loved the world that all men who Believed SHOULD be saved.

Not "would be". SHOULD Be!
You have to surrender your life to The Father. Totally and Completely. Agree to do HIS Will, not your own, for the rest of your days. Submit yourself Fully To HIM. Unconditional Surrender. No holding back. You give HIM Everything you were born with: YOUR LIFE>!

You think KNOWING HIM Intimately and Personally; you could ever sin again???

Do you cheat on your wife?
Do you beat your husband?

Would you sin against God who you Love and Cherish a million times more?

It grieves me very deeply to see so many, so many that are "studied"; got to every possible length to DENY HIM the opportunity to rescue you from a life lived in sin.

You Believers are snatching defeat from the Jaws of Victory.

Not much longer now. You will be IN-HIM or without. ALIVE or dead.

I can only continue to obey Godīs Charge to me and try to encourage you to Choose LIFE.

God Will not abide with sinners.
If you are HIS, you had better buck up and Know it.

The "so many that are "studied" do not go to every possible length to DENY HIM any opportunity whatsoever! He has already rescued us from a life lived in sin because of ignorance of the Word.

May He enlighten you with HIS love for the brethren that you may cease to accuse any before the Father. If you refuse the admonition to take first the beam out of your own eye, you will surely be brought to task.

You bring enough grief to this board that overshadows any false grief you have for us.

Sorry 1432,

You cannot Know The Word, before you KNOW HIM!

What you know is your own self-willed deception.
Until God has given you HIS Re-Birth; you are merely a vessel of possibilities.

Your free-will which undoubtedly you continue to seek; is a veil like the veil that was rent in the Temple when Jesus Died; only you have not allowed HIM to remove your distance from HIM.

I accuse you of nothing!
Only you Know that you do not KNOW.

What God has confirmed to me, I Knew before I ever posted once in this forum.

God has given me HIS Witness and confimed them to me and others demanding to "prove the spirit" through HIS Scripture.

God is even now Fulfiling all HIS Witness and Promise to HIS Remnant.

We tell you what we have seen and Know and yet you deny our witness.

It matters not to me.

Lester, cīmon now! You CANNOT know the Lord except by and through His Word. There is no way!

"God has given me HIS Witness and confimed them to me and others demanding to "prove the spirit" through HIS Scripture."

Out of the mouths of two or three witnesses shall the Word be confirmed. You do not have the final say! Show us your faith by emptying the hospitals, giving sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, speech to the halt, setting upright the lame. You do not have the power of the Apostles. All you can do is accuse others. By this, you serve no purpose except to serve yourself, and are no more than sounding brass.

I do not know why the Christians on this board, including myself, feed your twisted ego. God has not given you any more confirmation than He has the rest of us. You flatter yourself.

---------------------------------------------
When I read 1 John and the passage regarding those who are born of God CANNOT sin because Godīs seed abides in them...I understand this to mean that because those who have Godīs seed can never again be in sin because they are reconciled by Christīs atonement and payment for all sin. Does this mean that we cannot fall into sin, NO. We surely can and most likely will, but it is not held as sin in Godīs eyes any longer, because we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ.
Being an Ambassador for Christ means we have immunity from all sin before God..past/present/ and future. Never again can we be found in sin by Godīs standard. This IS NOT a liscense to sin, because if someone thinks it is then chances are they donīt have Godīs seed abiding in them...When I became born-again I immediatly had a grievance for sin in my spirit, and what I desired in the carnal man was no longer appealing to me. The change in me could be seen by all who knew me and even though no one could understand this change that was accomplished by the indwelling Holy Spirit, it was evident.
Understanding who we are in Christ is something that all who have His seed need to understand. This understanding will come through fellowship with Jesus, and learning of His truth through His word.

The Word of God is powerful, By His Word He formed the earth and heavens, Like I said in my earlier post Jesus is the Word, who is a witness of the Father, and the Wordīs Jesus spoke are a witness to the world through the Holy Spirit bringing them to life.

1432,

Was the witness of John the Baptist a lie, because no one confirmed him?

The verse you cite from Paul to Timothy regards matters of REBUKE and ACCUSATION against an elder. Can anyone who is not Born-Again be an "elder" or even a "member" of the Body of Christ?

You realize this? From 1st Tim 5:
[17] Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
[18] For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
[19] Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
[20] Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
[21] I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality

The Word is not our Revelation of Christ!
God puts Conviction for HIM upon our hearts. This is what must occur if our heart has been Called Unto The Father. This is what Peter showed Jesus in Matt 16:18 which IS The Rock, The Foundation of our Belief IN-HIM and Thereby the Faith we manifest from when we Surrender Unconditionally To The Father.

Jesus is The Word made Flesh; come into the world not to say "here I am", but to be the Witness of Godīs New Covenant.

Until we "Lift Up The Son of Man" and take Action For-HIM; we are not fulfilled in our promise of Knowing The Father.

We who are Born-Again are Fulfilled by our Relationship with God! Not by our knowledge of HIS Holy Word.

If you will not Believe you can Know HIM; guess what? You wonīt!!!

Jesus even witnesses more on this in Matthew 13:58. He says, "A Prophet is not without honor, except in his own house". Verse 58 is commentary but gives witness that HE did no mighty works there because of THEIR UNBELIEF!!!

I will witness to you that being Unwilling to consider that: your Love For God and HIS Witness within you can keep you safe from sin, is a form of unbelief which will deny you access to HIS Mighty Works.

What is sin? Anything that can block or alienate us from God.
God will keep you from being alienated from HIM if you seek and abide by HIS Will.

-----------------------------------------------

Another point I would like to clarify is that we are overcomers by what Jesus has done, not by what we do. Being Born-again means we can never again be alienated from God even if we fall into sin, the only alienation we will feel comes from the accuser of the brethren(satan) by attempting to fill us with guilt before God, but feeling guilt means we are still striving to please God through self, and not trusting in the acomplished work of Jesus. The Holy Spirit does NOT convict those who are of Godīs seed with guilt, regarding sin, He convicts them concerning the righteousness theyhave been clothed with instead. The convicction of sin ONLY comes through the Holy Spirit to the carnal people who have not yet been changed into His glory with the new man. I do not believe that there is such a thing as a carnal-christian. As I see carnal as the opposite of spiritual, maube it is a terminology I am missing, but the way I see it you either have the seal of the Holy Spirit in your spirit or you are still dead in your trespasses and sin.

Re: The Holy Spirit: Witness to The Holy Scriptures; Alive and Dwelling within each Born-Again Christian!
FoG,

I have had the Holy Spirit Witness to me that first John is the only book in the Bible that gives a concise view or perspective of what it means to live life as a Born-Again Christian.

John says more in 105 verses than Paul ever gives witness of.

I tell you, Jesus spoke truly and plainly that John has not died and will not even until the Son of Man returns.

I KNOW John better than I know you.

Yet, I also Know others in whom The Holy Spirit abides. The Holy Spirit gives me HIS Recognition.

Like Lukeīs account of John the Baptist, kicking in joyous recognition when Mary witnesses of Jesusī pending birth to Elizabeth.

I have written an article entitled "how I came to witness that Born-Again Christians do not continue to sin". The matter is completely disclosed there.

I am witnessing here that if we are truly Born-Again Christians, our Relationship with God is defined to us daily by HIS Witness within us and how HE enables us to Serve HIS Will with our lives.

Our Realationship is therefore not either found or proved through Scripture.

I agree with You in regards to trusting wholly in Jesus, This complete trust begins at the cross, and the significance of what He accomplished through His death. In order for us to be reconciled as dead to ourselves , we must be partakers of His death, only then can we be alive in Him.
There is a lot of depth to the meaning of this death and life through Him and the denial of ourselevs. To completely trust in Him means we are no longer looking at anything we can do or perform in ourselves to be alive in Him. That is why we must take up our cross of death and reconcile His work on the cross to ourselves. It is not in our ability to take up our cross, it is in our reckoning for His death on the cross that we must accept. If it was in our ability then we would be trusting in ourselves to become dead to the world and alive to Jesus.
This can only be recognized by us when He imparts the Holy Spirit within us, and we come to know Jesus through the relationship we now have with the complete Godhead. It is not only the Holy Spirit who indwells us but also the Father and the Son, as they are One. When we become spiritually born the whole Trinity now lives within us.

Lester:
"Our Realationship is therefore not either found or proved through Scripture."

Yet you quote it extensively to get a point across. If one needs only the Holy Spirit, then why bother with the Word of God as written?

The Holy Spirit has not been known to just dump Wisdom, Knowledge, or the Understanding thereof on people. You would not know what the testimony of Jesus is unless you read it first.

Without a point of reference, why should any listen to you, Lester? Two or three witnesses ON THE EARTH are required to confirm. Where are yours? We have only YOUR word that the Holy Spirit is confirming any of your words. Without the Scriptures, you can say anything you like, but it doesnīt make it so. Many have said they have a word from God. False prophets do it all of the time.

BTW, there were witnesses to the conception, birth, and life of John the Baptist. You just quoted two in your post above. (Sigh).

Re: The Holy Spirit: Witness to The Holy Scriptures; Alive and Dwelling within each Born-Again Christian!
FoG,

Thanks for your reply.

I know that I accepted Jesus at an early age. I was a Sinner who tried to do as God would have me do, but being Carnally-minded, could not so I sinned occasionally.

When I gave my life to God, I sought The Father, YahWeh. I specified YahWeh, I was led innately to call upon HIM. Unusual for a catholic, but I knew YahWeh to be HIS Name.

Until my wife bought the What Would Jesus Do book for our kids, I never heard of it. Yet, from about 2nd or 3rd grade I had tried to live that way, and the world beat me up for it.

I say this because all Believers are Carnal-Christians. They aspire to and try to do what they think God would have them do.

Born-Again Christians are no longer "Believers". God makes them "Knowers". We Know God and HE gives us Knowledge of HIS Will for us and the ability to carry it out.

I have Known The Father ever since I Surrendered to HIM.

What you conclude about not being able to OverCome sin is simply conjecture on your part. It is Elaborate Conjecture, but nonetheless; you do not KNOW.

There is still time to KNOW HIM and Know that IN-HIM you are also an OverComer not only of death but also of sin. It is as much HIS legacy or inheritance to you as life everlasting.

Until you Believe; HE will do HIS Mighty Works elsewhere.
