Watching the coast of Africa

Normally, we don't focus on the African coast and the "wave train" that moves west off the continent until later in the season.

However, parameters including a) low levels of storm-choking Saharan Dust over the eastern Atlantic; b) very warm sea-surface temperatures; and c) probability of lower-than-average wind shear aloft suggest that any wave moving off Africa will have to be monitored.

A strong wave will emerge into the Atlantic over the next day or so, and there is a window for development early next week in the western open Atlantic and when/if this feature survives to the Windward Islands at the end of next week.

Washington DC was never our friend. The states each had rights and a different constitution prior to the civil war. At the civil war many states gov were replaced by Washington DC.

Specifically redrawn was the "test oath" some states still had. The test oath prevented non Christians from serving.

The US Founding Fathers/Freemasons laid down the BIGGEST code in history!

The three main men and the three main colonies they represented behind the American Revolution were Benjamin Franklin (Grand Master Mason of Pennsylvania), George Washington (Master Mason of Alexandria, Virginia Lodge and GMM of the Continental Army), and John Hancock (GMM of Massachusetts after Joseph Warren was killed at Bunker Hill). There were at least nine signers of the Declaration of Independence that were Freemasons. (General Washington did not sign the Declaration - he was busy fighting the British in New York.) Along with Franklin, Robert Livingston was also on the Committee of Five that drafted the Declaration. Livingston was a Mason, and in 1784 he was appointed the first Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of New York (retaining this title until 1801). Roger Sherman of Connecticut may have been a Mason. Thus, Congress agreed to delay the vote on Lees Resolution until July 1. In the intervening period, Congress appointed a committee to draft a formal declaration of independence. Its members were John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, Roger Sherman of Connecticut, Robert R. Livingston of New York and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia. Thomas Jefferson, well-known to be the best writer of the group, was selected to be the primary author of the document, which was presented to Congress for review on June 28, 1776.

On July 1, 1776, debate on the Lee Resolution resumed as planned, with a majority of the delegates favoring the resolution. Congress thought it of the utmost importance that independence be unanimously proclaimed. To ensure this, they delayed the final vote until July 2, when 12 colonial delegations voted in favor of it, with the New York delegates abstaining, unsure of how their constituents would wish them to vote. John Adams wrote that July 2 would be celebrated as the most memorable epoch in the history of America. Instead, the day has been largely forgotten in favor of July 4, when Jeffersons edited Declaration of Independence was adopted.

This article has a couple mistakes. First, although the reputation of Jefferson as an excellent writer was well-known, Franklin and Adams were also well-known excellent writers. The Committee of Five consisted of four Northerners and Jefferson: a Southerner and slave-owner. Slavery was almost as BIG an issue as independence from Britain for the new nation. Jefferson was chosen as the writer so that the Declaration could include the abolition of slavery written by a Southern slave-owner. It was presented to the Committee with Franklin holding his editer's pen. Franklin scratched out "sacred" and replaced it with "self-evident". Of course, the abolition of slavery cause was deleted from the Declaration by the Southern slave-owners.

Second, July 2nd or any one day is not an "epoch"; a day can begin an epoch.

"The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. John Hancock was the only member of Congress to actually sign the Declaration of Independence on 7/4.
