This is my story for tonight...





My little brother had come back into town, after a hard week of work, so we decided to drink a little liquor and watch some movies. About an hour into the movie we got a call that there was a little chin-dig out in the boon-docks.. so we decided to drive out and see some old friends.


By the time the three of us (Phil, my brother, Scott, his friend, and I) had gotten out there.. It was just a select group of friends hanging around a campfire enjoying some drinks and stories. good music, good times.. So I thought..



About two hours into what I thought was a nice night.. we had word that the police were trying to crack down on the party. wary of people trying to have a good time.. and so we decided to, instead of heading out the regular way, drive the back route to my friends house.. to have an after hours campfire/music festival..



So with a convoy of three vehicles.. All capable of rough terrain driving, drove out the back way to my friends house.. My brother, Phil, his freind, Scott, who was driving, and I were bringing up the rear when all of a sudden... We lost the truck in front of us.. as my friend skidded to a stop.. I threw open the door.. expecting the worst.. bodies and injuries.. and my worst fears were met.. with a stark reality.. one friend.. crushed by the rolling SUV.. the other.. had his arm crushed by the door..



After a quick triage of the occupants.. I decided that it was time to transport my two friends to the hospital via the vehicle I was in.. while three of us sober people tried to get the SUV unstuck..



I have found out.. as of 20 minutes ago.. that one friend is going to be airlifted to a trauma ward to have surgery on his pelvis.. while the other will have his bicep re-attached here at the local hospital.


It was a harrowing night.. that drained my senses and soul.. I just ask for your prayers and sympathy in these times of need.. My friends need all the help they can get..

yeah... thats the first thing I said.. Sorry for the lang.. but I'm sure you'd have said the same thing.. seeing your friends laying on the ground.

That is a really hard life lesson to learn about searching for alcohol and finding the emptiness and destruction at the end of the bottle.

I hope your friends make a full recovery, but the one with the crushed pelvis will face a life of pain and will never be the same.
