So an extra $20,000 x 5,000,000 (households) = 100 billion a year. The bill is supposed to cost about 900 billion over 10 years. The .gov will earn an extra 1 trillion dollars from taxes in that time. Cutting the deficit by 100 billion in 10 years. You don't need to read a 3000 page bill to figure that out. |

In the process, they will break us, the insured. They way the bill was written was specific. It's a war being waged between the US govt and big Insurance. That wording allows for the insurance companies to TAKE IT OUT ON US WHO PAY FOR INSURANCE. They are going to MAKE US PAY MORE. I'm tired of the govt. not giving a damn about us. In Vancouver its top notch and I know where my tax dollars are going (it takes a lot of tax dollars to run single payer health care)I pay income tax rate of 22% and 11% sales tax (Gst and Pst)not all products have these taxes. We pay heavy sin tax on cigarettes, gas and alcohol-but our taxes are not overall higher than many or most states...our infrastructure is excellent (new and growing); no one loses a house or goes into bankrupsy if they have an on-going chronic illness. No one is refused the care they need. Canadians live longer than Americans, smoke less and have lower rates of Obesity. I realise many Americans have thee wrong idea about our system or Canada in general by many of the comments here. I respect that everyone has their own values and ideas about what they want for healthcare. |
